Yeongdeungpo izakaya spicy brisket nabe and 6 pork skewers: Nani

Today I'm introducing Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, a Yeongdeungpo izakaya near Times Square in Seoul. It's a great spot for a drink after wandering around Times Square.

I visited Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, a Yeongdeungpo izakaya in Seoul. Even the exterior is a nice-looking place.

Spicy beef brisket nabe with udon noodles added

The menu I was given at Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch was one beef brisket nabe, one pork belly-scallion skewer order, one udon noodles, and one Cass 500ml.

This is the beef brisket nabe. It's piled high with crunchy bean sprouts and loaded with beef brisket. The flavor is spicy and incredibly savory. The brisket is nutty and chewy, so good. Adding the crunchy texture of the bok choy and bean sprouts makes it even better. It goes great with rice, or as a side to soju. The broth is seriously addictive, the best. You can add udon noodles separately. I strongly recommend the udon.

Once I'd eaten most of it, I added the udon noodles too. Plump, chewy udon — the taste is super chewy, and udon in this broth is a must. They gave a generous portion, so it was really filling. Udon in this deeply savory broth is basically cheating.

What do the 6 pork belly-scallion skewers taste like?

Here are the pork belly-scallion skewers. You get 6 pieces total. The flavor is a combo of juicy, nutty rolled pork belly and crisp green onion — so good. Add the sweet sauce on top and it's even better. They grill it to order the moment you order it, so you get it fresh. It comes with pickled chili and sauce, which are great to eat alongside. The pickled chili is spicy and crunchy, cutting through any greasiness. The sauce is mild and tasty whether you dip in it or not. This is a strongly recommended menu item at Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch.

The complimentary side dish is cabbage salad. The cabbage was crunchy and slightly sweet, fresh and delicious.

This is the Cass beer. Cold, smooth going down, and clean — really tasty. Paired with the beef brisket nabe, I emptied the bottle fast.

The menu and how QR ordering works at Nani Byeolgwan

To order, you scan the QR code, decide on your menu, then press the buzzer. The pork belly-scallion skewers are a strongly recommended menu item. Everything is good, but skewers with a beer are just great. There are three kinds of skewer dishes, plus nabe, salmon sashimi, fried dishes, sides, sake, liquor, and drinks. The beef brisket nabe was also really good. The broth was so tasty it kept making me want another drink. A beer really is the best.

The interior is also nice, so I snapped a shot. The interior fits the cozy atmosphere well.

1F solo seats for drinking alone, 2F private seating

This is the 1st floor. There are solo seats at the open kitchen, great for drinking alone. It's also a great spot for a Yeongdeungpo date course. The owner and staff were really kind too, and all the food was delicious. I'd love to come back again.

This is the 2nd floor of Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch. The atmosphere is cozy and it's a really pretty space. I visited around 7:30pm and a lot of customers were coming in. The 2nd floor is a great place for a private drink. With Lotte Department Store, Shinsegae Department Store, and Times Square all nearby, come to Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch for a drink after shopping and a meal.
