Eunpyeong ramen with fried onion topping on karai paitan: Oreno Ramen
In short
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is a chicken broth ramen restaurant on Bulgwangcheon-gil in Eunpyeong, Seoul, and a repeat Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand pick. The order here was the spicy karai paitan with sweet-tangy mu pickles (pickled radish), plus refills of noodles, rice and broth, and the walk along Bulgwangcheon stream afterwards. A soft-boiled egg and fried onion on top make the bowl noticeably richer, and the whole meal is worth the trip.

I really love ramen, so I've been going around hunting down famous ramen spots all over Seoul — and this time I finally made it to Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong!
It's been selected for the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand multiple years in a row, so its taste and quality are already proven — I went in with high expectations.

How to order and what's on the menu at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong
Ordering is simple through the kiosk at the store entrance. Looking at the menu, Oreno Ramen's signature dish is the tori paitan (chicken bone broth ramen), plus the spicy karai paitan with its appealing kick — I went with the spicy karai paitan.

Is Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong good for solo dining or a date?
The moment I walked in, the clean, modern interior really struck me. Everything was spotless and neatly arranged, which put me in a good mood before I'd even eaten. There's bar-table seating, so it's totally fine to come alone, and it's also a nice atmosphere for a cozy meal with a friend or a date.

The mu pickles (radish pickles) served as a side were sweet and tangy, and eating them between bites of ramen was the perfect palate-cleanser combo ~

How spicy is the karai paitan at Oreno Ramen?
The karai paitan takes the savory, deep chicken broth base of the tori paitan and adds a pleasant spiciness on top.
It's not an artificial capsaicin heat — it's a mellow yet addictive spice blended right into the seasoning, and I found myself sighing with satisfaction every time I sipped the broth.
If you like spicy food, this is a flavor you'll be satisfied with no question — it cuts through richness while keeping the deep original flavor of the broth intact, making you want to drain it down to the last drop~

Free noodle, rice and broth refills explained
Another huge perk unique to Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong — noodle, rice, and broth refills!
When you're eating ramen and the broth is so good you want more noodles, or you want to mix in rice, this place generously offers refills, so even big eaters can finish the meal completely full and satisfied.

Best toppings and the Bulgwangcheon stream walk after lunch
If you're craving a rich, deep soup dish and want to taste a genuine life-changing bowl of ramen, I strongly recommend Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong in Eunpyeong-gu hahaha.
A clean store environment, friendly service, and above all an unforgettable, flawless bowl of ramen — all three came together perfectly.
One more charm point unique to Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong: the location! The store sits right next to Bulgwangcheon stream, so after filling up on delicious ramen, it's the perfect route for a leisurely stroll along the water. Visiting on a nice day and taking a light walk after the meal made for the perfect healing course.
I also recommend adding the soft-boiled egg (ajitamago) topping to go with your ramen! The yolk is savory and flows out moist and rich, taking the flavor up a notch when eaten with the broth. The fried onion topping soaks into the broth too, adding a subtle sweetness and nuttiness that kept me enjoying every bite to the end without getting tired of it.
Business hours run daily from 11 AM to 8:30 PM, so it's easy to stop by for lunch or dinner whenever suits you.
If you're in the Eunpyeong area looking for a date spot, a solo-dining favorite, or Japanese-style ramen with a deep, rich broth, don't hesitate — stop by Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong. I'd give it a 200% chance of going back — a true local favorite in Eunpyeong-gu!
