How numbing is the basic qinghuajiao kaoyu?

This time I ordered the basic qinghuajiao kaoyu at Bantiannyao Kaoyu Daejeon Branch. It's centered more on a numbing sensation than a strong mala flavor, so it seemed like it would be fine even for people who can't handle mala.

2) Qinghuajiao kaoyu We ordered the basic qinghuajiao kaoyu this time!

Whole fish in the kaoyu pan

Kaoyu comes out with a whole fish in a large pan, so it's pretty striking visually right from the start.

It arrives already partially cooked, and after simmering a bit more at the table, a staff member comes back to debone the fish so it's easier to eat!!

The qinghuajiao flavor is centered more on a numbing sensation than a strong mala smell, so it seems fine even for people who can't eat mala! After eating a good amount of the kaoyu, adding noodle toppings gives you the fun of picking through different ingredients like hotpot — I recommend ordering this when visiting with several people!!!
