Plant-filled Daejeon café with window seats and fruit dessert: Dalke

While looking for a nice-vibe café in Tanbang-dong, Daejeon, I found Dalke Dessert Cafe 🤍 It's a place decked out in lush green plants where you can enjoy dessert and drinks together. :) Today I'll give you an honest look at the atmosphere and menu at this Tanbang-dong café.

Dalke Dessert Cafe's exterior and the floor-to-ceiling window vibe

This Tanbang-dong café had a cozy feel right from the outside, with its big glass windows and green signage. You could catch a glimpse of the plants and interior from outside, the kind of place that catches your eye as you walk by. Sunlight pours in through the glass front, so I imagine the whole space feels even warmer on a nice day. ⛅️ If you like quiet, atmospheric spaces, you'll like it here!

Inside, filled with plants — like a mini botanical garden

Walking in, there were even more plants scattered around than I'd expected from the outside, and it felt like stepping into a little botanical garden. Tables had a decent amount of space between them, and the wood furniture paired with patterned tablecloths made for a comfortable atmosphere. Pots and props filled the ceiling and walls too, but it never felt overdone — more like an old European home.

A pastry case full of financiers and canelés

There were more dessert options than I expected, so it was pretty hard to pick just one... Baked goods like financiers, canelés, and chocolate desserts were all lined up, making it easy to pick something to your taste. The canelés in particular weren't just the basic kind — some had tiny flower decorations on top, which looked really cute. If you want to enjoy baked goods with your coffee at this Tanbang-dong café, I'd say go for the dessert too 🥰

The window seat was my favorite

The window side was filled with huge plants, letting me really feel the lush atmosphere this Tanbang-dong café is known for. Sunlight streamed in through the glass and the view outside was refreshing too, so personally this was my favorite seat. Plants and wood-toned furniture blended naturally together, giving off the feeling of a little break in the middle of the city.

The fruit dessert and drink I ordered

What I ordered was a striking fruit dessert paired with a cool drink. Loaded with kiwi, blueberries, figs and more, it caught my eye visually the moment it hit the table. Thanks to all the colorful fruit, the photos came out great too — I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dessert at a Tanbang-dong café in Daejeon.

From above, you could really see how generously the fruit, cream, and crumble were piled on. Soft cream, tangy fresh fruit, and crunchy crumble in between made for a great combination. It was sweet and refreshing at the same time, and good for eating slowly alongside a drink.

Up close, the top of the dessert was really generously covered with kiwi, blueberries, and figs. On a soft, pillowy base, the cream, fruit, and crumble gave a variety of textures. The fruit's tartness balanced the sweetness of the cream, so it was less heavy than expected and easy to finish :)

The outside was baked crisp like meringue and crumbled apart delicately, while the inside was soft and pillowy, which paired well with the cream. A big bite gave you crispiness, soft cream, and juicy fruit all at once, so the texture was quite varied. It was a sweet dessert, but with fresh fruit mixed in, the aftertaste stayed relatively light.

As I kept eating, there was plenty of cream tucked inside too, so it turned out to be a more filling dessert than I expected. Paired with the fruit sauce and crumble around it, I could enjoy sweetness, tartness, and nuttiness all at once. If you're looking for a dessert with an uncommon look at a Tanbang-dong café, this one's worth trying.

At the end, I scooped up the meringue, cream, and fruit all together, and personally that was the tastiest way to eat it. The crispy outer part met the cream and sauce and gradually turned moist, giving a different texture from the first bite. With plenty of fruit throughout, I could finish it to the last bite without getting tired of it :)
