Uijeongbu restaurant for pork cutlet sets: Yangchonri Donkaseu

Whenever we go for drives near Seoul, we always end up passing through Uijeongbu and Pocheon, so I visited Yangchonri Donkaseu Millak Branch (양촌리돈가스 민락점), a great Uijeongbu lunch spot for pork cutlet :) There was plenty of parking support, and with pork cutlet, webfoot octopus, noodles, and more, it was a great Uijeongbu restaurant for picking a family meal menu :)

What kind of place is Yangchonri Donkaseu Millak Branch?

Yangchonri Donkaseu is on the second floor of a commercial building, and the restaurant was quite spacious. We arrived just after lunchtime and got straight in without waiting.

It is famous as a Uijeongbu pork cutlet spot, and the set menus had both good value and a great selection. Even the two-person set was generous; I added just one noodle dish to it, and our family of four ate until we were full! Each menu item comes in a generous portion too.

You can order by scanning the QR code at each table. Payment is at the counter when you leave. Such a nice feature—you can order comfortably from your seat…!

There were backed sofa seats too, and since the restaurant is large, the tables are nicely spaced out for a relaxed meal. You can use the self-serve bar for extra side dishes. Side dishes come as standard when you order the fire-grilled webfoot octopus, so just use the bar for anything you need more of!

Definitely try the jangguk (clear soup) at the self-serve bar. It was warm and salty, so I gulped down a whole bowl as an appetizer. If you only scoop from the bottom, it can be salty, so make sure to stir it well first!

How was the crisp Korean-style pork cutlet?

⭐️ Yangchonri Donkaseu It is the familiar Korean-style crisp pork cutlet with a rich, sweet demiglace sauce. You can ask for the sauce separately too, which is nice for eating it how you like. The charm of this style of pork cutlet is when it gets a little saucy, but I like both sauce-poured and sauce-dipped versions!

Dip the thin, crispy giant pork cutlet generously in sauce, and it is the kind of delicious Korean-style pork cutlet that both adults and kids would enjoy! There was no gamey smell from the meat, and the crisp coating went beautifully with the moist meat. The portions of rice and cabbage salad served alongside were just right too.

Why the fire-grilled webfoot octopus rice bowl was the best dish

⭐️ Fire-grilled webfoot octopus rice bowl Unexpectedly, the fire-grilled webfoot octopus was the most delicious dish. There was plenty of octopus, and it came as a set with rice, bean sprouts, fresh vegetable salad, young-radish kimchi, and chilled acorn jelly soup. It arrived on a basket-like tray, which somehow made it feel like eating at a country grandmother's house haha Because it is fire-grilled webfoot octopus, it was full of smoky flavor, with seasoning that really clung to your mouth—just perfect for making a rice bowl. The octopus was plump, the sweet-spicy seasoning was delicious, and I completely finished a whole bowl of rice haha

The sweet cabbage and green onions were stir-fried nicely too, so they went well with the octopus. It is great as a full set meal like a Korean home-style spread, and the stir-fried webfoot octopus really has that proper smoky flavor :) Mix it thoroughly into the rice and you will finish a whole bowl in no time.

Noodle dishes that pair well with pork cutlet

⭐️ Halbae Guksu Halbae Guksu is janchi-guksu (Korean banquet noodles)! Its warm, savory broth makes it an easy noodle dish that almost anyone would enjoy. It paired nicely with pork cutlet for a warm sip of broth.

⭐️ Bibim Guksu The bibim-guksu (spicy mixed noodles) had delicious sweet-spicy seasoning too. It came with a good amount of vegetable garnish; just mix it well and enjoy! It was not very spicy, making it a slightly spicy combination that went well with pork cutlet. Yangchonri Donkaseu's noodle menu includes Halbae Guksu (janchi-guksu), Halmae Udon, and bibim-guksu. You can choose what suits your taste!

Parking and directions for Yangchonri Donkaseu Millak Branch

It is on the second floor directly above Starbucks Millak Town in the Jeil Punggyeongchae Centum building. Enter to the left of Starbucks, then come up through the Gate B entrance to the left of Saemaeul Sikdang, and you will find it on the second floor. For parking, enter the commercial-building basement level 1 next to the Starbucks building, then take the elevator to the second floor. Register at the restaurant counter for one hour of free parking; after that, it is ₩1,000 per 30 minutes.

A great choice for a family meal at a Uijeongbu pork cutlet lunch spot; the fire-grilled webfoot octopus rice bowl and noodle dishes are delicious too, so I recommend trying a variety through a set menu :)
