I wanted to introduce a place I'd call one of the best restaurants near Asan Techno Valley, so I paid a visit.

It's called Ilpum Chamsut Galbi (일품참숯갈비), located on Junganggongwon-ro 17beon-gil in Dunpo-myeon, Asan, Chungnam. I found it while searching for Dunpo restaurants, and after visiting in person I could see why it's often listed among them. As the name suggests, the main dish here is pork galbi (grilled pork ribs) grilled over charcoal. If you're looking for a good meat restaurant in Asan, I think this one is worth knowing about. This was about my fifth visit, I think.
Where do you park at Ilpum Chamsut Galbi?
Let me start with Ilpum Chamsut Galbi's biggest advantage: there's a huge public parking lot right across from the restaurant, so parking is a total non-issue.
Popular restaurants usually have such cramped parking that visiting itself feels like a hassle, but there was none of that worry here. This especially made me think it would work well as a company dinner spot without any trouble. Not having to stress over parking when a group shows up in several cars is a bigger perk than you'd expect. For anyone working near Asan Techno Valley, this alone might be reason enough to visit.
What side dishes come with the pork galbi?
Another thing that stood out at Ilpum Chamsut Galbi was the spread of basic side dishes. Marinated crab (gejang), steamed egg, corn cheese, two kinds of salad, and steamed skate all came out, filling the table so much that the sides alone felt substantial.

It's rare for a meat restaurant to bring out such a varied side dish spread. Among meat restaurants in Asan, this one left me with the impression of being especially generous with its sides. For three people it came to about ₩50,000, which felt reasonable given the menu and the number of side dishes.
Group seating for 40 and the Safe Restaurant certification
Ilpum Chamsut Galbi is certified as a Safe Restaurant by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. It has standing-table group seating and can accommodate groups from a minimum of 4 up to a maximum of 40 people.

They keep serving utensils on hand for sharing, manage chopsticks and spoons hygienically, and staff wear masks, all of which felt reassuring in terms of hygiene. Wi-Fi is available and the restrooms are separated by gender, both convenient. High chairs are provided too, so families with kids should find it easy to visit. It also works well for gatherings or company dinners. Combined with the ample public parking mentioned earlier, it's set up to handle even a large company dinner without any hassle. Group reservations are possible too, so I'd recommend calling ahead.
How was the pork galbi for three with two pots of rice?
We ordered three servings of pork galbi and two hotpot rice bowls at Ilpum Chamsut Galbi. The pork galbi is grilled over charcoal, so it picks up a subtle smoky aroma, and there's something fun about grilling it yourself right at the table.

The hotpot rice, ordered separately as a side, paired really well with the galbi. You even get to enjoy the crispy scorched rice (nurungji) at the bottom until you're full, so I'd definitely recommend getting one.
Can you pay with Asan local currency?
Ilpum Chamsut Galbi accepts a wide range of payment methods. Local currency in paper, card, and mobile forms are all accepted, plus simple pay. If you use local currency, this is worth keeping in mind.
I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for good food near Asan Techno Valley, especially if you're trying to figure out a company dinner spot without worrying about parking. Among Dunpo restaurants, this one has ample parking, a generous side dish spread, and Safe Restaurant certification, so it's an easy place to visit without hesitation. Worth adding to your list of meat restaurants in Asan.
