I went looking for a good samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) spot in Cheonan and ended up at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch — here's my review.
I usually stress over picking a restaurant for group dinners, but this one really delivered, so I wanted to write it down. It's got that easy, drink-with-friends vibe of a Dujeong-dong BBQ pub, and the meat quality itself was good enough that I can happily recommend it as a Dujeong-dong restaurant to remember.
Location, hours, and parking
The restaurant is about a 7-minute drive from Dujeong Station, so access wasn't bad at all. It's open from 4pm until 4am the next day, which is great since you can go even late at night. Parking fits about 2 cars right in front of the building.
Charcoal and rice-husk smoking, and the restaurant atmosphere
Cham Dwaejitgan's own smoking method stood out — they say they smoke the meat using charcoal and domestic rice husks. Maybe because of that, the meat itself had a subtle smoky aroma, giving it a slightly different flavor from a typical samgyeopsal place.
The restaurant itself was spacious and comfortable, the kind of place that would work for group dinners, family meals, or dates alike.
The amenities were thoughtfully prepared too — phone chargers, hair ties, disposable aprons, plastic covers for your clothes, kids' tableware, wifi, floss and toothpicks, mouthwash, mints, and even Febreze. It felt like a lot of care went into the details. I especially liked that they had kids' tableware, since it looked like you could comfortably dine there with a child. Parking is available right in front of the building!

Boseong Nokdon samgyeopsal and kkotmoksal 160g
Let me first go through what we ordered.

We ordered generously: 160g of Boseong Nokdon samgyeopsal, 160g of Boseong Nokdon kkotmoksal (pork neck), plus kimchi jjigae, steamed egg, and fried rice. Cham Dwaejitgan says they only serve top-grade pork — Jirisan black pork and Boseong Nokdon — carefully selected, and eating it, I could really tell the difference in texture.
The Boseong Nokdon samgyeopsal had a great balance of fat and lean meat, so one bite off the grill brought out a rich, savory flavor. The kkotmoksal had a chewier texture than the belly, so each cut had its own distinct charm.
Staff-grilled service
The grilling service, where staff cook the meat for you, was a nice touch — they managed the grill and the timing of the cook, so all we had to do was eat.

They apparently use a specially made handmade grill pan, and oil splatter was minimized, so the table stayed clean throughout.

Sauces and wrap vegetables
There was a good variety of sauces and wrap vegetables, so it was fun mixing and matching to my taste.
- Sauces: ssamjang (soybean-chili paste), spicy sauce, salt, wasabi
- Side dishes: minari (water dropwort), scallion salad, garlic scapes, bean sprouts, mushroom wasabi, garlic, chili peppers
- Wrap vegetables: kimchi, lettuce, perilla leaves
Wrap vegetables were also set out, so you could wrap your meat however you liked.
Potato wrap + mushroom wasabi + garlic scapes combo
The combo that was truly a hit here was wrapping potato slices with mushroom wasabi and garlic scapes on top.

The meat alone was already delicious, but wrapping it in potato and adding the sharp kick of mushroom wasabi with the crunch of garlic scapes kept me reaching for more. It made me think that next time, I should just refill the potato wraps a few more times on their own. Since the vegetable side dishes at Cham Dwaejitgan are unlimited refills, enjoying this combo repeatedly was totally guilt-free.
Finishing with kimchi jjigae, steamed egg, and fried rice
The kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) we ordered after the meat had a rich, spicy broth, probably from soaking up the pork belly fat.

The steamed egg came out soft and mild, which would be easy on kids' palates too, and finishing with fried rice left us fully satisfied.
Final thoughts
Overall, this was quality that holds its own as a Cheonan samgyeopsal restaurant, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good Dujeong-dong BBQ spot. It's also easy to use for a group dinner thanks to the spacious dining room and grilling service, and it works just fine as a casual Dujeong-dong BBQ pub, too.
I'm putting this on my list of go-to BBQ spots and plan to come back. I can't stop thinking about that potato wrap combo, so next time I'm planning to refill it several times before anything else.
