When you're shopping in Seomyeon, you kind of want to handle a meal in the same trip too, haha.

This time I went to Karen on the basement level of Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch~!

It's the kind of place that cooks right on the teppan grill, so it caught my eye just walking past. With menus ranging from meat to fish, I wanted to introduce it to anyone looking for a good Seomyeon Lotte spot, haha.
Where is Karen in Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch, and when is it open?

Since it's inside the department store, it was convenient to visit while shopping~! It's also directly connected to Seomyeon Station, so it would be handy even in bad weather. Note that hours may change depending on the department store's schedule, haha.
Karen's teppanyaki steak menu and prices in Seomyeon

This time I tried three menus: imperial galbisal steak ₩15,900, white fish steak ₩13,900, and buchaesal steak ₩16,900. All of them come with rice, soup, stir-fried mung bean sprouts, and side dishes.
It's not just a steak on its own — it comes together like a full meal, which made it a solid choice for a Seomyeon Lotte spot, haha.
Imperial galbisal steak at Karen: ₩15,900

First up is the imperial galbisal steak~! It comes cut into bite-sized pieces, which also made it easy to eat with rice.
If you're torn on what to order from the meat menus, this was a safe, easy pick, haha. Eating it alongside the sprouts brought out that signature teppanyaki combination nicely.
White fish steak at Karen: ₩13,900

Since eating only meat felt like it might get a little heavy, I also ordered the white fish~! It came out golden-browned on the outside and was lighter and cleaner-tasting than the meat. Alternating bites with the galbisal or buchaesal was a good combination too.

If heavy meat dishes aren't your thing, this seems like one of the better picks at this Seomyeon Lotte spot, haha.
Buchaesal (flat iron) steak at Karen: ₩16,900

Last up is the buchaesal steak~! It was the priciest of the three, but if you love meat, it's the one that catches your eye.
Eating it alongside the imperial galbisal, I noticed how different the texture was even though both are beef — comparing the two as I ate was part of the fun, haha. With rice and soup included too, it ended up being more filling than I expected.
Is Karen a good lunch stop while shopping in Seomyeon?

Personally, the most convenient part was not having to go anywhere else since it's inside Lotte Department Store~! Every menu is in the ₩10,000s range, so it was great for a simple, casual teppanyaki meal while shopping, haha. It was also nice that if you're visiting with a group, everyone can pick between meat and fish depending on what they want.

If you're looking for a filling Seomyeon Lotte spot to eat at before or after shopping, give Karen a try~! Ordering a few different menus to share, like we did, worked out well too, haha.

Next time I come back, I'd like to try the king prawn and scallop, which I didn't get to this time~! If you're ever looking to combine shopping and a meal in Seomyeon in one go, Karen is a good Seomyeon Lotte spot to keep in mind, haha.
