Busan Seomyeon bar with grilled dakbal spice level 2: Sinineurin

You guys know what? No, you probably don't — my boyfriend can't eat dakbal (spicy grilled chicken feet)! ㅠ

So because of that, today's post is about ditching him and going to eat dakbal with my mom instead. It'd been a while since I had a mom-daughter date, so I wanted to go somewhere good. I was thinking about where to go when I remembered Sinineurin Dakbal — a friend treated me there this past spring and it was delicious, so I decided to revisit! It was so good that time haha.

Where is Sinineurin Dakbal in Seomyeon, and what are the hours?

Sinineurin Dakbal is located at Bujeon-dong 516-46, Busanjin-gu, Busan, in the alley across from the back exit of Lotte Department Store Seomyeon. Hours are Tue–Sat 17:00–02:00, Sun–Mon 17:00–00:30.

This Seomyeon restaurant/bar is in the alley across from the Lotte back exit. There's a signboard at the entrance of the alley, so it's easy to find.

The interior is your classic bar vibe. We showed up right at 5pm opening and were the first team in, but by around 6:30 it was almost full? And that was on a weekday. Anyway, if you don't want to wait, I'd recommend going a bit early.

Sinineurin Dakbal menu and set prices

The main menu items are dakbal, chicken neck meat, clam soup, old-style whole fried chicken, and eomuk (fish cake) soup. We picked the clam soup + dakbal (boneless) set for ₩36,000. You can choose bone-in or boneless dakbal.

There are also sides like fried chicken gizzards, fries, rice balls, steamed egg, nurungji (scorched rice) soup, and pineapple sherbet. While we were looking around after ordering our set, I figured rice ball is a must with dakbal so I got the tuna mayo rice ball too haha. It's ₩6,000 and the portion is generous!

Since it's a bar, I wanted a drink too, and they have quite a variety. But my mom said she'd already had drinks with friends yesterday, and I'm on a pre-wedding diet, so I tried Terra Zero instead. Personally, better than Hite Zero, good good. Can't wait to finish the wedding and go wild with actual bottles.

Tuna mayo rice ball and pudding-soft steamed egg

The first thing to arrive at Sinineurin Dakbal was the ₩6,000 tuna mayo rice ball. The portion was huge — what fit in the bowl was less than half of it.

Since the rice ball came out first, I rolled it round and round while waiting for the dakbal. I'm basically a rice-ball master now. Oh, and that bowl was just what fit — more than half the mix was still left over. Portion was massive.

A bit later the dakbal and clam soup came out too, and the table was fully loaded. That's when I suddenly got really hungry — it was our first meal of the day after all.

There was also a soft, pudding-like steamed egg. We didn't order it — maybe it comes with the set? Anyway it was so~~~~~ soft and delicious. Genuinely want to learn how to make it haha ㅠ

Mom's top pick: the clam soup

The clam soup in the set was my mom's favorite. It's only clams, no other seafood, and the broth was seriously seriously good. The kind of broth that'll cure a hangover even from drinks you didn't have... so refreshing~~~

You can add kalguksu noodles if you want, which seems great for bigger groups. The clams were plentiful and plump too.

How spicy is spice level 2 grilled boneless dakbal?

Today's star is Sinineurin Dakbal's grilled boneless dakbal. There are 3 spice levels, and since it was for my mom we went with level 2 — a bit mild for my taste, but full of smoky grilled flavor and very satisfyingly crunchy.

It says level 2 is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, but it was actually less spicy than that. More like spicy-sweet. TMI: I like dakbal more than tteokbokki.

Since it's a drinking snack, it's on the saltier side, which makes it a perfect match with the rice ball. You have to eat it this way, seriously haha.

Is the Sinineurin Dakbal set too much food for two?

My mom saw me and copied the pose for a toast(?) haha. We had it as dinner and I was so happy... but my mom eats light, so between the two of us there was quite a bit left over ㅠㅠㅠ

Next time I want to come with a bigger group, order chicken neck meat too, and get way more drinks flowing for a real party. Thankfully they packed up the leftover dakbal for us to take home. Gonna add udon noodles to it when I eat it later, hehe.
