Namyangju Korean BBQ at the spiciest level: 2002 Witch's Arpeggio
In short
2002 Witch's Arpeggio is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Wabu-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi, serving one dish — tomato-jang pork belly — with outdoor tables beside a creek and indoor group seating. On a weekday afternoon three of us ordered the Witch's Jar Cheese Tomato-jang Pork Belly for three (75,000 won) at the spiciest level, then finished with the cauldron fried rice with cod roe and scorched rice for two (10,000 won). The melted cheese turns the heat into savory richness, and on a weekday afternoon 2002 Witch's Arpeggio had no wait at all.

I needed a mood reset, so I drove out to Namyangju for lunch and revisited 2002 Witch's Arpeggio, a Namyangju spot I used to go to a lot whenever I was feeling down — it's been a while. Even after a long gap, the food was still so good and the service so nice that I wanted to go again, so let me write this post carefully, as always.

🧾 Namyangju creekside BBQ spot: 2002 Witch's Arpeggio event
Creekside outdoor tables or indoor group seating: which to pick
Inside 2002 Witch's Arpeggio, there are two seating options: outdoor tables right by the creek where you can really enjoy the valley, and a comfortable indoor section with group seating.

The place is so big it doesn't fit in one photo, and there were a lot of families like us. I liked that the tables weren't packed tightly together, so it stayed comfortable :)
One menu only: tomato-jang pork belly, and how to choose the spice level
At 2002 Witch's Arpeggio, each table has its own kiosk, so it was easy to look at the menu and order right from your seat. The menu is just the signature tomato-jang pork belly, so all you have to do is choose your spice level.

Witch's Jar Cheese Tomato-jang Pork Belly for three, 75,000 won
Without much thought, we ordered the tomato-jang pork belly with the added cheese option.

Staff set out the basic side dishes on the table first, and there was a generous amount, plenty to eat

From acorn jelly pancake to tomato kimchi to japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), the seasoning was spot on across the board, all delicious :)

While we were snacking on the sides, our pork belly got set up too. A staff member came by periodically to grill the whole tomato-jang pork belly and even did a torch fire show, so it was fun to watch as well as eat, and

My family all likes spicy food, so we picked the spiciest level. Maybe because of the cheese, it wasn't overwhelmingly hot — more of a savory kind of spicy that builds richness, and

The pork had no gamey smell at all, was clean and nutty-tasting, and paired really well with the tomato-jang — good eaten plain or wrapped in lettuce like a ssam !!!
Cauldron fried rice with cod roe and scorched rice for two, 10,000 won
After finishing the meat, we ordered fried rice for the meal, and even the 2-person portion was so generous it was almost too much for three adults, making it a really great value item, and

The seasoning was spot on even without extra sauce, and the crispy scorched rice stuck to the bottom of the kiln pot was a treat within a treat — so delicious ~
