Jeju grilled fish set for two with kimchi jjigae in Yongdam: Naneun

In short

Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch is a charcoal-grilled fish restaurant on Yongmun-ro near Jeju Airport. On a weekday visit with her mom around 5pm, the writer ordered the Big Son's Set for two at 36,000 won, which came with mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder and yellow croaker plus kimchi jjigae. The fish is seared first and grilled again at the table, and with refillable side dishes and a yuzu sauce it works as both a first meal in Jeju and a genuine local favorite.

Grilled fish near Jeju Airport: Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch

Today I want to introduce a spot I consider a certified grilled fish gem in Jeju: Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda. I really love grilled fish and so does my mom, and since we were in Jeju, I wanted the good stuff. After searching around, I found this charcoal-grilled fish specialist — Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda! It was so satisfying that this is the kind of place I'd happily pay for myself, and I'd recommend anyone who loves fish to visit while traveling in Jeju.

What a 5pm weekday visit is like: locals and travelers side by side

We visited around 5pm! There were already two tables when we walked in, and weekday evening customers kept streaming in after us — I could tell right away this was a real local favorite. Three grandfathers came in who clearly weren't tourists but genuine Jeju locals, haha. I wanted to find a place locals actually vouch for, and here it was full of both tourists and locals — total success.

Window seat with a sunset view outside the restaurant

The sun was just starting to set, so the view through the window was gorgeous too. It was our first meal in Jeju, and I felt so good about choosing Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda for it.

I could see rows of fish that had already been pre-grilled once. Rather than just serving what was pre-cooked, they grill it a second time until crispy, which I really appreciated. The owner was also super friendly! I felt like I was getting genuinely good service.

Newspaper-style menu made to look like a Sunday Jeju paper

What comes with the Big Son's Set for two at 36,000 won

The menu is styled like a Sunday Jeju newspaper — such a fun, clever touch! They open early enough to serve breakfast too... We ordered the Big Son's Set for two at ₩36,000, but I also got curious about the Small Son's Set, which features braised bracken cutlassfish as the main (same price). Next time I visit, I'm definitely ordering the Small Son's Set, haha.

The Big Son's Set comes with four kinds of fish — mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and yellow croaker — plus your choice of stew. Such great value for the price! You can also upgrade to tilefish for just ₩2,000 more. Since we were in Jeju, trying the tilefish would've been nice, but the flounder and yellow croaker were both so delicious it was hardly a loss!

Notice about the new Gosam-bossam menu item

Solo set meals and meat dishes at Naneun Jigeum

For those traveling solo in Jeju, there's a solo set meal so you can eat well even alone! Gosam-bossam (pork wrap) is a newly launched menu item. And for those who can't eat fish, there are meat dishes too.

The menu isn't just a menu either — it has fun bits about Jeju attractions to read while you wait, so it's never boring. There are even discount perks, and if you leave a Naver review, they give you steamed egg — don't miss that!

Refillable side dishes, kimchi jjigae and the grilled fish

This is what the side dishes look like by default, and it was great that you can ask for refills if you run out. They were all tasty, so I was very satisfied!

Kimchi jjigae served first

The kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) came out first! It had a flavor that skews toward what younger people enjoy — it reminded me a bit of ramyeon. It paired well with the fish, though, spicy enough to really cut through any fishy smell.

Best fish on the plate: mackerel, plus mom's picks of cutlassfish and croaker

The grilled fish we'd been waiting for finally arrived! It was so well grilled, and every fish was delicious. The mackerel was so good I picked the bones clean, haha. My mom raved about the cutlassfish and yellow croaker. Last winter, my parents and I went to a grilled fish place in Jongno and it was disappointing — but Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda has affordable prices, great taste, and excellent service, and I wished a branch existed in Seoul too.

I kept wanting more the whole trip, and even after I got back from Jeju to the mainland, I kept thinking about Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda! I'm getting hungry just writing this. And I didn't know this, but delivery orders come in too? Lucky Jeju locals — they get grilled fish delivered...

The leftover fish remains — total cleanup, honestly looks like a cat got to it, lol.

Signed memento hanging in the restaurant

Apparently a famous celebrity visited recently. I heard they came on their birthday and said it was so delicious, lol. July 17, 2026 — that's really not long ago.

Owner grilling fish over charcoal

Yuzu sauce and the Jeju-style interior

And the owner kept grilling fish the whole time we were there. The food comes out fast, which is great, and the interior is kept nice and clean. Definitely try the owner's special sauce — the yuzu sauce was exactly my taste, haha. Next time I want to try the spicy sundubu jjigae and doenjang jjigae too.

The interior is decorated with plenty of Jeju vibes too, so it felt good the whole time we were there!

I'll definitely come back. Thank you, Big Son (?) owner, for the good memories! I'll visit again next time! Super fresh grilled fish, the best.
