Not long ago, I visited Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo (역전포장마차 영등포) with some friends. It is incredibly close to Yeongdeungpo Station, so it is easy to get to, and there is no better place for a second round after filling up elsewhere. Actually, I had visited once before and fell for its distinctive, atmospheric vibe and excellent snacks, so this was my second trip back.

Once inside, the fairly spacious interior immediately stands out. The soft lighting works beautifully with the space and gives it a very neat impression. Its cozy yet polished feel makes it just as suitable for a date as it is for a relaxed drink with friends.

Cozy and polished interior of the bar

The place is especially roomy and comfortable, so I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a bar near Yeongdeungpo Station for a group gathering or a company dinner.

Spacious interior with seating for group gatherings

On days with sporting events like these, there is something especially fun about getting together, cheering, and drinking. This place has a well-equipped big screen, making it popular for watching baseball near Yeongdeungpo Station, too. It has everything you need for a Yeongdeungpo gathering, with tasty snacks and the lively energy of cheering along. The generous seating arrangement can easily accommodate a large group, so it is full of all kinds of visitors on weekend evenings.

Snack dishes chosen for the second round

Since we had already eaten our fill during the first round and came here for a second, we looked through the menu for lighter snacks rather than anything heavy. The sheer variety of choices is one of this place's biggest strengths.

After some deliberation, we ordered the sweet My Honey Tomato, the must-have-broth self-cook instant ramen, and crispy grilled dried pollack with a great chew, plus cola and soju. Most surprising of all, soju costs ₩3,900. That is an exceptionally good price in this era of high prices, and anyone who enjoys drinking cannot help but love this Yeongdeungpo bar.

The snacks we ordered arrived one by one.

Self-cook instant ramen

This is the self-cook instant ramen. Cooking it yourself is part of the fun, and the springy noodles with the spicy, piping-hot broth were a solid supporting player for our drinks. Once again, it proved that spicy broth simply cannot be left out when soju is involved.

With an egg and cheddar cheese added, it was absolutely perfect as a soju snack!!

My Honey Tomato

My Honey Tomato featured thinly sliced fresh tomatoes generously topped with sweet honey and sugar. The moment I put one in my mouth, its bright tang and pleasant sweetness spread through it, cleanly washing away the heaviness from the food we had eaten in the first round. It was surprisingly excellent with soju.

Lastly, the crispy grilled dried pollack arrived exactly as its name suggests: crisp on the outside, chewy and nutty inside, and nicely grilled. Dip it generously into the house soy-mayo sauce with a little Cheongyang chili pepper, and a salty, spicy, nutty flavor fills your mouth. Even though we were full, it was the kind of irresistible snack that kept drawing our hands back.

How was it for a Yeongdeungpo Station group second round?

Overall, it was a thoroughly satisfying time, from the quality and value of the snacks to the comfortable setting. The appeal of ₩3,900 soju is huge, even thinking about it again. You can drink happily without spending too much, so if I have another Yeongdeungpo Station company dinner planned, I will suggest this place without hesitation.

With its big screen, there is no need to think any further if you are looking for a bar to watch baseball near Yeongdeungpo Station or a Yeongdeungpo Station bar for a larger group. If you want to enjoy a Yeongdeungpo gathering or group plan in a roomy, comfortable setting, be sure to visit Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo, which delivers on both flavor and atmosphere. It will stay in your memory as a perfect, no-regrets second-round bar near Yeongdeungpo Station.
