Yeouido restaurant chicken rice lunch: Jeongyun Kitchen
In short
Jeongyun Kitchen is an Asian restaurant in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, serving Singapore chicken rice. I visited with 7-month-old Ujju in a baby carrier and enjoyed the half-and-half chicken, plus red curry chicken rice. Verdict: delicious food, but bring a carrier rather than a stroller.

These days, as I’ve gradually been eating out more often with Ujju, the way I choose good restaurants has changed from before. Delicious food is a given, but I also make sure to check whether there’s a high chair, whether it’s easy to bring a stroller, and whether the space is too cramped.
This time, I visited Jeongyun Kitchen with 7-month-old Ujju in Yeouido. Jeongyun Kitchen specializes in Singapore chicken rice, and since I already love chicken rice, I’d been curious about it. It is also fairly close to The Hyundai Seoul, so it is in a good spot to stop by when looking for lunch near The Hyundai Seoul.
To give you the conclusion first, the food was so delicious that I’m planning to visit again. But if you are coming with a baby, I would recommend a baby carrier rather than a stroller.
Would a stroller be okay when visiting Jeongyun Kitchen with a baby?
Jeongyun Kitchen is on the second floor of Gongjak Shopping Center on Yeouinaru-ro. The restaurant itself is not especially large, and you need to go up stairs to reach the second floor, so it is good to keep this in mind when visiting with a baby.

I visited with 7-month-old Ujju that day and wore a baby carrier instead of bringing a stroller. With the stairs and the limited space inside, I personally thought it would be a little inconvenient to bring a stroller in.

Visiting with a 7-month-old: thankfully, there was a high chair!

My biggest question when visiting with 7-month-old Ujju was whether it would be okay to eat there with a baby. In the end, because there was a high chair, the meal itself was comfortable.

Ujju sat nicely in the high chair and looked around, and thanks to that, we could enjoy our meal a little more leisurely. Still, as I mentioned earlier, I would not recommend a stroller. It is on the second floor and requires taking the stairs, and the interior is not very spacious, so bringing a stroller inside would probably be inconvenient.
I visited wearing a baby carrier, and that was much more comfortable. If you are planning to visit with a baby, I would recommend a carrier. This may be helpful in particular for anyone looking for lunch near Yeouinaru Station with a baby.

Singapore chicken rice with a half-and-half option—love it
We ordered Singapore chicken rice and red curry chicken rice that day. What I especially liked about Jeongyun Kitchen’s Singapore chicken rice was that you can choose two kinds of chicken. We ordered half chicken cutlet and half sous-vide chicken breast.
Since you can try two kinds of chicken on one plate, if it is your first visit, you might want to order it half-and-half like I did.

Juicy sous-vide chicken breast and crispy cutlet
And the chicken here was really delicious. What impressed me most was how moist and tender it was! When you think of chicken breast, you might first expect it to be dry, but the chicken breast I had that day was soft with almost none of that dryness.

Perhaps because it was cooked sous-vide, the chicken breast was juicy and tender, which made it delicious. The chicken cutlet had a different appeal. It was crispy on the outside and tender inside, so alternating it with the sous-vide chicken breast never became boring. I loved being able to try two types of chicken in one Singapore chicken rice dish.

The red curry chicken rice was also so good

The red curry chicken rice we ordered alongside it was delicious too. The gentle aroma and smooth flavor distinctive to red curry went well with the chicken, and I kept reaching for it with the rice. I personally love curry too, so I think ordering both the Singapore chicken rice and red curry chicken rice was a great choice that day.
I think I would have been a little disappointed if we had ordered just one menu item, but sharing the two dishes was nice because we could enjoy different flavors.

Above all, I was satisfied because the chicken in both dishes was tender and juicy. When you go out for lunch in Yeouido these days, the menus can sometimes feel all too similar, but Jeongyun Kitchen was a nice change because I could have Singapore-style chicken rice. I could see why so many office workers come here for weekday lunch.

Now I see why it is popular for lunch near Yeouinaru Station
Perhaps because Jeongyun Kitchen is open only for weekday lunch, there were really many office workers when we visited. People kept coming in for meals as we entered, and when we finished and came out, there were people waiting outside too.
For office workers looking for a good lunch near Yeouinaru Station, I think it is popular because of its convenient location and because you can have Singapore chicken rice, something a little different from the usual lunch menu. After trying it myself, I could understand to some extent why there was a wait. It seems like a good place to visit on a day when you are craving something different after having similar Yeouido lunch menus every day.
What was a little disappointing about Jeongyun Kitchen?
This time, we had Singapore chicken rice and red curry chicken rice, but there was one small thing I found a little disappointing while looking at the menu. Personally, I thought it would be nice if there were one or two more varied noodle dishes. The rice dishes were delicious, but I found myself wanting to try noodles next time.
On my next visit, I plan to try something we did not have this time. Still, the two dishes we ate that day were so delicious that I do want to return. In particular, I think I will order the Singapore chicken rice half-and-half again, so I can have the chicken cutlet and sous-vide chicken breast together.
Final thoughts on Jeongyun Kitchen, a Yeouido spot I want to revisit
Jeongyun Kitchen, which I visited with 7-month-old Ujju, was much more satisfying than I expected. The high chair made it good for eating with a baby, and above all, the food was so delicious. The chicken in particular was wonderfully juicy and tender, and I also liked being able to order Singapore chicken rice half-and-half to try chicken cutlet and sous-vide chicken breast at once. The red curry chicken rice was delicious too, so if two people visit, I would recommend ordering two dishes and sharing them.

It tends to be busy at weekday lunch, so you should also expect a wait, but after eating there, I understood why Yeouido office workers come here so often at lunchtime. I want to try other menu items next time, and personally, I hope the noodle selection becomes a little more varied.
Still, the chicken rice I had that day was so good that I plan to revisit Jeongyun Kitchen as a Yeouido favorite. If you want a lunch that is a little different near The Hyundai Seoul, or are looking for a Yeouido restaurant or lunch near Yeouinaru Station, I think it would be nice to stop by Jeongyun Kitchen. 😊
