Gwanak burger restaurant with tablet ordering and patty melt: Daily

In short

Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance is a handmade burger restaurant one minute on foot from Exit 2 of Seoul National University Entrance Station in Gwanak, Seoul. After several delivery orders, the writer visited the restaurant in person for the new patty melt and bacon cheese fries swapped for the 18mm thick-cut fries. The freshly cooked patty melt paired crisp bread with a thick patty, and the window bar seats plus tablet ordering made solo dining easy.

First photo from visiting Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance

This is a place I've often ordered delivery from, but this time I wanted to eat it fresh at the store, so I paid a visit to Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance in person. I'd been satisfied with it via delivery, so I was curious how the menu would taste freshly made in-store.

Where is Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance, and is it good for solo dining?

Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance is easy to reach, just a 1-minute walk from Exit 2 of Seoul National University Entrance Station, and the vibe is comfortable enough for solo visits, so I wanted to recommend it to anyone looking for a solo dining spot near Seoul National University Entrance. The orange BURGER sign caught my eye right away, so the store wasn't hard to find.

The interior had a casual wood-tone feel with yellow accents, and besides regular tables, there were bar-style seats facing the window. Some burger places feel awkward to sit alone in, but here the window seats made it feel comfortable for solo dining near Seoul National University Entrance. It seems like a good spot to stop by for a simple solo meal or when looking for a lunch option nearby.

Store signage introducing the Daily Fix brand

Daily Fix is introduced as a brand built on know-how accumulated over many years by chefs who came from New York Michelin 3-star and 2-star restaurants. I'd already ordered delivery from here a few times, but I was really excited thinking that ordering in-store might mean eating it even warmer!

This time I ordered the new patty melt and bacon cheese fries, and upgraded the fries to Daily Fix's signature 18mm thick-cut fries.

How does the new patty melt taste fresh off the grill at Daily Fix?

Cross-section of the patty melt cut in half

Daily Fix's new patty melt comes cut in half, which made it easy to eat! The patty sitting in the middle was quite thick. Between the golden-toasted bread were layers of patty, melted cheese, and onion, so it looked appetizing just from the cross-section. The outside of the bread was crispy, while the inside was soaked with meat juices and cheese, giving it a moist texture too.

With one bite, the crispy bread, the meaty patty, and the savory cheese all hit at once — it had a different charm from a typical burger. The patty in particular wasn't thin at all and had a strong presence, so it should suit anyone who loves meat. It's a Seoul National University area spot I'd already enjoyed via delivery, but eating the patty melt fresh and warm let me appreciate the combination of bread, cheese, and patty even more.

Bacon cheese fries ordered as a side

For the side, I ordered bacon cheese fries. I debated just going with the regular fries, but ended up upgrading to Daily Fix's signature 18mm fries.

The chunky-looking 18mm fries

To cut to the chase — if you like thick fries, the upgrade is recommended! Compared to typical thin french fries, these are noticeably chunkier, and you can tell the thickness even from photos. The outside was golden and crispy, while the inside kept that fluffy yet moist potato texture alive. The potato itself has a real presence, so it's great even just dipped in ketchup, but ordering it as bacon cheese fries made it much more filling.

On top of the 18mm fries was a generous layer of cheese, and on top of that, plenty of bacon and onion! Scooping up the salty, savory toppings, the soft cheese, and the thick potato all together on a fork was great. I especially liked that since the potatoes weren't thin, the potato flavor didn't get lost even under all that cheese and bacon. Honestly, this was a menu I kept reaching for just as much as the patty melt that day.

Delivery or dine-in: which suits Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance better?

Having first gotten to know Daily Fix through delivery, I visited in person this time, and eating it freshly cooked really did have a different charm. The new patty melt impressed with its crispy toasted bread, thick patty, and cheese combination, and the bacon cheese fries — upgraded to 18mm fries — let me properly enjoy that thick-yet-moist potato texture.

The store also has window seats that are comfortable to sit at alone, and tablet ordering made things easy, so it worked well as a solo dining spot near Seoul National University Entrance. Whether you're looking for a Seoul National University area restaurant that's good both for delivery and for eating in person, or a Sharosu-gil restaurant where you can properly enjoy burgers and fries, I'd recommend Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance!
