Japanese restaurant in Gwanak, Seoul with toowoomba soba: Gosigosi
In short
Gosigosi (고시고시), Seoul National University Station branch, is a Japanese restaurant serving fusion soba and tonkatsu right outside Exit 4 of Seoul National University Station in Gwanak, Seoul. The writer ordered the yukhoe (raw beef) rice bowl, the basil demi-glace tonkatsu and the toowoomba soba, and the toowoomba soba was the clear winner — her 70-something mother picked it as the best of the three too. Worth a visit if you want soba you won't find elsewhere and a comfortable seat for eating alone.

Where is Gosigosi? Right outside Exit 4 of Seoul National University Station
You spot Gosh Gosh 💚 GOSH GOSH the moment you step out of Exit 4 of Seoul National University Station. Something about that green sign just makes you hungrier 🙂

A banner menu with mouthwatering, realistic food photos is set up right at the entrance, so passersby probably can't resist walking in after seeing those pictures 🙂

Gosh Gosh is running all kinds of promotions right now, from review events to movie ticket giveaways ♥︎

Inside Gosigosi: bar seats made for solo dining
The interior isn't huge, but it's laid out with bar seats for solo diners plus tables for 2, 3, and 4 people, so it manages to fit quite a few guests despite the small footprint 🙂 Genuinely a great spot to eat alone!!!

What's on the menu at Gosigosi: soba and tonkatsu
The menu covers soba, tonkatsu, rice bowls, and fried dishes, but soba and tonkatsu are the main event. The soba isn't the traditional style — it leans fusion, with unusual flavors I hadn't seen elsewhere, which really piqued my curiosity. If you're a noodle lover like me, you'll want to try one of everything 😚

Ordering yukhoe rice bowl, basil demi-glace tonkatsu and toowoomba soba
Gosigosi's yukhoe rice bowl, mixed without chogochujang
Unlike typical yukhoe (raw beef) rice bowls, this one skips the vinegary chogochujang sauce and instead gets mixed with savory seaweed flakes and chives — salty, nutty, and full of umami ♡

Basil demi-glace tonkatsu: for basil sauce lovers
The basil demi-glace tonkatsu is a crispy, savory pork cutlet topped with a rich creamy basil pesto sauce ♥︎ If you love basil sauce, you have to try this haha

Toowoomba soba, the best dish at Gosigosi
The toowoomba soba was the tastiest of the three dishes I tried. Chewy, soft fresh noodles get tossed in a spicy toowoomba-style sauce, and it's genuinely... ㅠ not greasy at all, just so good that even my mom, in her 70s, said this was the best dish 🙂🥰

What was good about eating at Gosigosi
- If you drive, parking is easy since you can use the Egg Yellow building's parking lot 😀
- There are bar seats for solo diners, so this is a comfortable spot to eat alone. Every seat has a tablet ordering and prepayment system set up well 😀
- I tried a tonkatsu, a soba, and a rice bowl, and all of them were delicious — you really can't go wrong with any menu item here 😀
- It's right outside Exit 4 of Seoul National University Station, so access is excellent, and there's no break time or day off, so you can drop by whenever you're hungry. It's also near Sharosu-gil, making it easy to head to a café or explore the area afterward 😀
- They offer unusual fusion dishes that combine Japanese soba with East-meets-West ingredients — basil soba, perilla oil yukhoe soba, toowoomba soba, and more. Recommended if you're tired of standard soba or tonkatsu and want something with a fusion twist! 😀
