Gwanak burger restaurant for bacon cheeseburgers: Daily Fix
In short
Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance is an American-style burger restaurant in Gwanak, Seoul. After an off-site visit, I had its ₩12,900 Bacon Cheese Burger and crispy, juicy eggplant fries with celery green mayo. Daily Fix is an easy pick for a solo burger meal on Sha-ro-su-gil.

An American-style restaurant after an off-site visit to Seoul National University
Not long ago, I went to Seoul National University for an off-site visit. It had been so long since I’d been to a university neighborhood like this… it felt so romantic 🥹 I thought I’d stroll around Sha-ro-su-gil at my leisure and pop into a pretty restaurant nearby, and then this wonderfully American-style place appeared right in front of me: Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance! I went straight in, and I was so satisfied.

The exterior and outdoor seating on a sunny day
Exterior

The weather was lovely that day, with sunlight streaming in 🤍

When it’s breezy, not humid, and pleasantly cool like it has been lately, it would be nice to sit at the outdoor tables too, haha.
Yellow sofa seating and an open kitchen

But looking outside from indoors is also sooo nice!

The indoor seating includes these cheerful yellow sofa seats.

Since I’m sensitive about hygiene, I want to give places with an open kitchen you can see so clearly +10,000 points.
Why I chose the Bacon Cheese Burger
Menu recommendation

Bacon Cheese Burger Bacon Cheese Burger (₩12,900) A combination of house-made bacon that is smoked and grilled in-house, plus a thick patty made with 100% Korean beef. The words “Kang Min-kyung’s PICK” made me choose the Bacon Cheese Burger right away, without hesitation!

I think the food took about 5–10 minutes to come out.

It’s not an enormously thick burger, but the bun, bacon, patty—just everything was perfect…

The beef patty isn’t thick; it’s actually quite flat, but it was seared really crisp and was so delicious!!!! I wondered why it tasted this good, looked back at the menu description, and realized it was made with Korean beef 🥹 The bacon, meanwhile, was interesting because it wasn’t the thin, flat bacon I usually know—it felt thicker. And that, too, was house-made bacon smoked in-house…
How were the celery green-mayo eggplant fries?

Eggplant Fries Crispy outside, juicy inside eggplant fries Thick eggplant fries, fried crisp on the outside and juicy within, served with house-made celery-based green mayo. Normally fries are the only right answer with a hamburger, and Daily Fix’s fries aren’t even ordinary fries—they’re apparently a whopping 18 mm thick and moist! As an eggplant lover, I simply couldn’t not order something that openly said crispy-outside, juicy-inside eggplant fries on the menu 🤷♀️

As expected… they were really, really delicious. The fried coating had a texture I’d never had before in my life. It wasn’t especially thin or thick, but there were thicker bits as though it had been wrapped in noodles before frying? That made the texture even more fun, and needless to say, the eggplant was incredibly juicy. The sauce was green mayo with celery in it, and the celery flavor was definitely noticeable. I personally like celery, so I enjoyed it, haha. If celery isn’t your thing, you could just eat the eggplant fries on their own—the outside is seasoned, so they’ll still be good!

Review event and dishes I want to come back for
There’s also a review event underway. If you save the restaurant on Naver and write a review, you can get one of either corn salad or coleslaw for free! +) They also give out a coupon for onion rings to customers who make a Naver reservation before visiting, so please keep that in mind before you go :)
This is a restaurant I’d recommend when you’re looking for a good place on Seoul National University’s Sha-ro-su-gil, somewhere you don’t feel self-conscious eating alone, or an amazing hamburger, haha. Personally, I want to go back just for the eggplant fries! 🍆
