Songjeong hanok café with a round window seat: Suwolgyeonghwa, Busan

One of the best cafés I've visited lately — Suwolgyeonghwa, an ocean-view café in Songjeong ₊˚⊹🌊 With its quiet hanok (traditional Korean house) atmosphere and desserts that were on point, this is my top recommendation if you're looking for a café in Songjeong! It's also close to the Ikea and Lotte Outlet in Gijang, so if you're heading that way, definitely stop by 🍵

Where is Suwolgyeonghwa, and what about parking and hours?

• Parking: 1st-floor lot available; use nearby paid lots if full (no parking fee support)

Suwolgyeonghwa is a one-minute walk from Songjeong Beach, located across from the Gudeokpo tunnel. It's great for a beach stroll right after your café visit, and it's also just a 15-minute walk from the Songjeong stop on Haeundae Blue Line Park, a famous Busan tourist course...! There's a lot to do nearby, which was a big plus.

Parking at Suwolgyeonghwa is free at the building's 1st-floor piloti lot. If it's full, you'll need to use a nearby paid lot, and there's no separate parking fee support!

Suwolgyeonghwa means "moon reflected in water, flower reflected in a mirror," and at the entrance there's a mirror and moon crafted to represent exactly that.

3rd-floor floor seating, 4th-floor ocean view: Suwolgyeonghwa floor by floor

Suwolgyeonghwa spans two floors, the 3rd and 4th. The 3rd floor is a floor-seating space, while the 4th floor is where you get the wide-open Songjeong ocean view. Note that drinks can only be ordered on the 4th floor.

On the 3rd floor there's a long table with an ocean view, and further inside there are more tables for four screened off by fabric curtains.

Isn't the floor-seating space amazing, , , It genuinely felt like being time-slipped back to the Joseon dynasty for tea. Plus there's a round window, so it's great for sitting side by side and chatting, and it makes for really pretty photos!!

The 4th floor gives you the beach train plus ocean view, so it was nice just zoning out and watching it.

They also sell Suwolgyeonghwa tea bags inside, which seem like a great gift for anyone who loves tea. *₩1,000 discount when you buy goods in-store

By the way, even the restroom nails the hanok concept perfectly.

Suwolgyeonghwa's menu: Caemo Elixir tea and Bamnui Guleum chestnut cream latte

Being a proper tea house, Suwolgyeonghwa offers a wide range of premium teas as well as traditional Korean drinks like ssanghwa tea, sujeonggwa, and sikhye.

I ordered the Caemoelixir, the Bamnuiguleum, and the Dalbodeurae box.

Bamnuiguleum — a sweet chestnut latte piled high with soft cream. It was delicious, so I recommend it 🌰

I liked that every tea came with loose leaves placed on top so you could smell the aroma.

What do the five traditional desserts in the Dalbodeurae box taste like?

And now the one I was looking forward to most — the dalbodeurae box. Anyone with an old-school palate will absolutely love these traditional desserts. Eat clockwise starting from the injeolmi (rice cake) skewer.

The chewy injeolmi (glutinous rice cake) coated in savory roasted soybean powder was delicious...! And the black rice sulbbang made with makgeolli fermentation was totally my style — I could've eaten like five more haha.

This one's a red bean butter monaka made with whole red bean paste, French gourmet butter, and glutinous rice cake — a sweet flavor everyone, young or old, would love!

The gamtae (seaweed) mentaiko financier had a nice salty kick from the gamtae. Lastly, I finished with the ganache monaka made with French chocolate, floral and fragrant — I loved its luxurious flavor ˚ ༘♡ ⋆｡˚

Is Suwolgyeonghwa in Songjeong worth a visit?

Between the calm hanok atmosphere, the ocean view, and the delicious tea and tea sweets, Songjeong's Suwolgyeonghwa was satisfying in every way! If you're looking for a great-vibe café in Busan, I recommend it 🍵🍡🤍
