Today I'm introducing a café with a great vibe in Minrak-dong, Gwangalli, Busan — Café Buajang!

Hi~ I'm Jjokohyeong, a guy who loves good food and travel haha. When you wander around Gwangalli, you naturally end up looking at the sea, eating something good, and finding a café to rest at for a bit. This time I went to a café with real character in Minrak-dong, just a short walk from Gwangalli Beach. That's Café Buajang!

Among locals it's known as a bit of a blind-date spot~ The space feels like a converted house with lots of green plants added, so the atmosphere was great even before stepping inside.

Best of all, this wasn't just a coffee stop — I properly enjoyed some sweet desserts too haha. What we ordered was maple cream latte, chestnut tiramisu, and black sesame gelato latte! Each had its own charm, so tasting them one by one was fun. Let's get into the story of Café Buajang, a great-vibe café in Gwangalli~

Café Buajang location, parking and the plant-filled entrance

Café Buajang is located at 30 Minrakbondong-ro 27beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan. It's tucked inside a Minrak-dong alley not far from Gwangalli Beach, a good spot for a slow walk over. It's a bit different from the big beachfront cafés right on the water.

It felt more like a small, quiet, character-filled café tucked into a residential alley, which I actually liked even more. Looking at the front of the café, it's full of green plants — the natural mood starting right from the entrance was really nice haha.

In summer, trumpet vine flowers apparently bloom here too, making it a pretty photo spot.

I imagine it looks even prettier if you visit during blooming season. There's a small parking space available in front of the café, but it's not very spacious, so if you're driving, it's better to call ahead.

Inside the converted house: a different seating mood in every room

Stepping through the door, the atmosphere felt totally different from outside. The old-house character is still there, but plants and props have been added throughout to make it cozy.

I personally love this kind of vibe, so I felt good the moment I walked in haha.

The tables weren't all bunched in one area — each space had a slightly different mood, so it was fun picking the seat I wanted.

There was a range of seating, from a space with a big table to cozier spots to sit.

Going further in, another space opens up.

The café was bigger than I expected, so it was fun taking my time to look around.

The little props placed here and there matched the space really well. With sunlight coming through the windows and green plants added in,

even casual photos came out looking like proper aesthetic shots haha. It has a different feel from the typical ocean-view cafés you see all over Gwangalli —

a comfortable atmosphere unique to the alley cafés of Minrak-dong. It's good for quietly chatting over coffee,

good for couples on a date, and also good for resting alone for a bit.

What's on the menu at Café Buajang

Café Buajang has a wide range of menu items, from coffee to lattes to desserts. From basic coffee to distinctive signature drinks and desserts like tiramisu, there was quite a variety.

While debating what to order, I picked something a bit different from my usual choices haha — the maple cream latte and the black sesame gelato latte! And for a sweet dessert I couldn't skip, I went with the chestnut tiramisu.

Alright~ time for the taste review.

First, a sip of the maple cream latte. With soft cream on top, the first taste was sweet and nutty in a great way. The cream's smooth texture and the latte's nutty flavor blended naturally.

True to its name, it even carried a faint autumn mood, which put me in a bit of a sentimental headspace haha. If you like sweet lattes, this one's an easy, enjoyable choice.

And then, the star of the day! The chestnut tiramisu. The moment it arrived, the visual was so soft and appetizing that I had to take a photo first haha. It had the classic soft cream of tiramisu, plus a nutty, subtle sweetness from the chestnut layered in.

Instead of being aggressively sweet, the sweetness came through gently, which paired well with coffee. In particular, the nutty character of chestnut lingered subtly, giving it a charm different from regular tiramisu.

Scooping up the cream and sponge together gave a moist yet soft texture that worked really well. A bite of sweet dessert followed by a sip of coffee — that combo is unbeatable haha. Personally, I'd recommend taking your time enjoying it with coffee.

Lastly, the black sesame gelato latte! The nutty flavor of black sesame combined with the sweetness of gelato made for a rich, memorable taste. The distinctive nuttiness of black sesame kept rising subtly,

and as the gelato melted smoothly into the latte, it made for an even more velvety drink. If you like nutty flavors, this is a menu item worth trying at least once. It was sweet yet had that distinct black sesame nuttiness, clearly different from a plain latte haha. Looking at all three menu items together, each had its own flavor personality, which made picking through them a lot of fun.

Final verdict: is Café Buajang worth it near Gwangalli?

To wrap up with my overall impression — Café Buajang was a place worth visiting if you're looking for a café with a slightly different atmosphere in Gwangalli. The space, which feels like a converted house with green plants added throughout, had an overall comfortable yet emotional mood that I liked. There were also little props scattered around, making it quietly fun to take your time looking around.

Most of all, tasting all three menu items this day — the maple cream latte, chestnut tiramisu, and black sesame gelato latte — really let me experience the charm of Café Buajang haha. From the sweet, soft maple cream latte to the nutty, gently sweet chestnut tiramisu to the gelato latte with its appealing black sesame nuttiness, each had a different flavor, so it seemed like a good place to pick according to your taste.

If you want to see the sea, eat good dessert, and rest for a bit in a quiet space in Gwangalli, Café Buajang in Minrak-dong is worth stopping by. Especially on a day when you want to take photos in a nice-vibe café and enjoy sweet desserts too — a place like this is perfect haha. Walking along Gwangalli Beach and then heading into the Minrak-dong alley for coffee and dessert to unwind for a bit sounds like a pretty good course too~
