Post-run pork belly and Jeju beer in Gwangalli, Busan: Myeongseung
In short
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is a pork specialist serving fresh Jeju-raised meat, one minute on foot from Gwangan Station Exit 1 in Suyeong, Busan. After a Sunday run along Gwangalli, the writer and her husband sat down to a late lunch of three servings of ogyeopsal (thick-cut pork belly) with Jeju beer, then naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) and a Jeju pork kimchi stew. The pork belly was good, but the kimchi stew broth at the end was the part of the meal that stayed with them.

This is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Gwangan Station where you can enjoy Jeju-raised pork alongside menu items with a real Jeju feel.

Last Sunday, after finishing a run in Gwangalli, I was hungrier than usual!! So while looking for a Gwangalli meat restaurant with pork belly, my husband and I ended up at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi. Maybe because I'd just worked out, I was craving thick-cut grilled pork, and we ended up eating our way through ogyeopsal, naengmyeon, and kimchi stew — a hearty late lunch. 😊
Where is Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi, and how close is it to Gwangan Station?
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is located at 24 Suyeong-ro594beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, about a 1-minute walk from Gwangan Station Exit 1 toward Gwangalli Beach. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 17:00-22:00, and Saturday, Sunday 11:00-22:00, closed every Tuesday. Parking is available, but it's best to call ahead.

Being so close to Gwangan Station made it quite easy to find. Head toward Gwangalli Beach from Exit 1 and it's right there — pretty convenient access if you're searching for a good meat restaurant near Gwangan Station.

It's also an easy stop if you have plans around Gwangalli or are heading to or from the beach. Just like us after our Gwangalli run, it was an easy place to drop by when we were craving a hearty meat meal. 🏃♀️
Four-person tables at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi make it easy for two people
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is mostly set up with tables for four, so even visiting as a couple, we had plenty of room to sit comfortably.

Walking in, I noticed the space was mostly 4-person tables, which made it easy for us to sit comfortably as a pair.

The interior was clean overall too, so what stood out first wasn't the usual crowded, bustling feel of a BBQ restaurant but a comfortable atmosphere for a meal.

It looked like a good spot for a family meal out or dining with a group too, so it seemed like an easy place to visit for anyone looking for a good meat restaurant in Suyeong.

And looking over the menu, there was quite a strong Jeju feel — everything from Jeju pork kimchi stew to Jeju wild bracken to gogi guksu (meat noodle soup).

What stood out most was that the pork itself is sourced from Jeju, so I thought, let's really eat meat properly today, and ordered three servings of ogyeopsal. 🔥
Three servings of Jeju ogyeopsal, good from the moment it hit the grill
The three servings of Jeju ogyeopsal we ordered at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi got me excited the moment they hit the pan. Being thick-cut, the lean meat had a nice chew, and the fat left behind a savory richness.

The moment the pork belly hit the grill, it started sizzling loudly, and being hungry from the run, that sound alone was such a welcome sight. 😆

As it browned up nicely, the surface took on a mouthwatering seared color and a savory aroma spread through the air.
Taking a bite, the lean part had a good chew while staying tender, and the fatty part left a natural savory richness in the mouth.
Being thick-cut ogyeopsal, the juiciness came through more with every chew — it properly satisfied that Gwangalli-meat-restaurant-pork-belly craving I'd had.

The meat alone would've been fine, but the side dish spread made every bite more varied! Side dishes made in-house by the owner came out along with fresh lettuce wraps and even bracken pancake — quite a generous table haha.

I wrapped the meat up big in a lettuce leaf, then tried it with the scallion salad — it wasn't greasy at all, so I kept going back for more. Even with the same pork belly, eating it as a wrap, then with scallion salad, then with a side dish here and there, meant I never got tired of it by the end.

Jeju beer is on the menu too
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi also sells Jeju beer, so I tried it with the pork belly. To me it tasted clean with a subtle orange-like aroma — lighter and easier to pair than I expected. 🍺

Eating the rich pork belly and taking a sip in between left my mouth feeling refreshed. Eating Jeju-raised pork with Jeju beer, even though we were in Busan, gave off a bit of a Jeju vibe just through the menu.
Naengmyeon with pork belly: the combination we can never skip
After we'd made good progress on the pork belly, we ordered naengmyeon at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi for dessert. After meat, I usually crave something cool and clean, so finishing off with naengmyeon to reset my palate was exactly my kind of flow.

Then I tried the leftover pork belly together with the naengmyeon. Cold, clean noodles paired with warm, savory meat — this combo is hard to get wrong. 🥺

If you're checking out a good meat restaurant near Gwangan Station and, like me, aren't the type to stop at just meat, I'd recommend trying this combo with naengmyeon too.

The Jeju pork kimchi stew we ate last was the most memorable dish
The last thing I ate at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi was the Jeju pork kimchi stew!! Honestly, having already filled up on pork belly and naengmyeon, I took the first bite without expecting much.
But this one really stuck with me unexpectedly. 😳 The deep flavor from the well-fermented kimchi had soaked well into the broth, giving it a rich taste that was perfect to spoon up after eating meat.

Even though we were full, I kept going back for one more spoonful of broth, and my husband and I ended up finishing it off pretty happily. Going in for pork belly and coming away remembering the kimchi stew too, I feel like this'll come to mind again as a good meat restaurant in Suyeong.
Would we go back to Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi for Jeju pork in Gwangalli? 👀
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi feels like a place that'll come to mind again when I'm looking for a Gwangalli meat restaurant with pork belly and craving Jeju-raised ogyeopsal. It's close to Gwangan Station, and we got to eat heartily in one sitting — pork belly and side dishes, naengmyeon, and kimchi stew all together.
It seems like a good fit for anyone looking for a good meat restaurant near Gwangan Station, a comfortable spot to eat meat with family, or a good meat restaurant in Suyeong. Next time we're craving meat near Gwangalli, we'd love to come back and have the pork belly with the kimchi stew again! 💙
