My husband and I went to Gwangalli for a quiet coffee date on a late Saturday afternoon. Gwangalli Beach gets so crowded on weekends that I did my homework to find somewhere we could actually talk and think in peace.

That's how this hidden hideout caught my eye — Café Buajang, a Gwangalli dessert café! Walking just a bit inland from the beach and into the alley, the whole mood changed to something relaxed. Let me walk you through the real review~
Café Buajang basics: address, hours, and parking near Gwangalli

The address is 30 Minrakbon-dongno 27beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea. Hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00–19:00, and Wednesday 11:00–21:00; the café is closed every Tuesday. There's parking for 3–4 cars right in front, so it's best to call ahead before you go.

It's about a 10-minute unhurried walk from Gwangalli Beach, tucked into a quiet residential alley behind Minrak Alley Market. There's zero trace of beach noise here — the cozy neighborhood vibe made even the walk there feel healing.
Inside Café Buajang: high gabled ceilings and indoor plants

The moment we opened the door and stepped inside, both my husband and I gasped at how pretty the space was.

It's a house that's been beautifully renovated into a café, and the gabled roof gives it soaring ceilings and a huge sense of openness. Green vines hang naturally from the wooden rafters overhead — I genuinely felt like I'd walked into a tiny botanical garden or greenhouse.
The big white table in the middle felt breezy too, and the whole relaxed mood had me won over the second I walked in.

The window seat at Café Buajang, full of afternoon sun

One whole wall is a huge window, and the green leaves of the outdoor garden are framed like a painting through it. Since it was late afternoon, the sunlight scattered gently through the leaves onto the floor and tabletop, and the shadows were honestly a work of art.

The wooden chairs with yellow cushions looked comfortable too, and every little prop felt like it carried the owner's care. You could snap a photo from literally any seat and get a great shot — now I get why Buajang is known as one of the good-vibe cafés in Gwangalli!

The hallway area near the entrance was impossible to just walk past too. A large travelers palm, some sensibly chosen art prints, and antique wood furniture all came together for a gallery-like feel.

Best of all, the tables aren't crammed together — they're spaced wide apart, so even on a late weekend afternoon it wasn't noisy at all. Perfect for couples wanting some quiet time together.
The quiet inner room seats at Café Buajang
Further inside Buajang, there's a separate space that keeps the original room layout of the house. Vintage wood walls, warm orange lighting, and a soft sofa combine to give it a cozy, hideout kind of feel.

It looked like a great spot to sit alone with a coffee, read quietly, or get some laptop work done. A space this quiet for reflection so close to the beach in Gwangalli — I'd recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for a date café in Busan!

What we ordered at Café Buajang in Minrak-dong, Busan

After thoroughly checking out the space, off we went to the counter to order! Looking over the menu on the clipboard, there was quite a lineup — coffee, ade, tea, gelato, cake. The note about the coffee beans said they had a gentle acidity with a nutty dark-chocolate character, which got me excited to try the coffee too.

My husband ordered a cold americano, I went for the pretty pink lemon tea, and since dessert felt non-negotiable, we also got the signature banana tiramisu.

Everything we ordered arrived beautifully arranged on a wood tray. I gasped the moment it landed — it looked so pretty! With the fragrant coffee, the tangy-sweet lemon tea, and the sweet dessert spread out in front of us, all the weekend fatigue just melted away.
Iced americano: gentle acidity with dark chocolate depth
First I stole a sip of my husband's iced americano. It came in a glass with the cute Buajang logo, crema piled generously on top.
The first sip was bright with gentle acidity, then a rich, nutty dark chocolate flavor filled my mouth right after. The balance between the acidity and the nuttiness was so good that it'd be enjoyable for basically anyone, love-it-or-hate-it aside. It paired perfectly with the sweet desserts too.
Hot pink lemon tea: sweet-tart and sunset-colored
My pink lemon tea came in a clear mug, and the color was genuinely gorgeous. Green herb leaves floated on the pale pink liquid, with a thick slice of fresh lemon sitting at the bottom.
Blowing on it to cool it down, the tangy lemon juice and sweet house-made syrup blended together so warmly going down. It was the perfect vitamin-boost tea to lift the mood on a lazy late Saturday afternoon!

The signature banana tiramisu at Café Buajang

The star of the day and the thing I'd been most looking forward to — banana tiramisu! Inside a clear cup, soft mascarpone cream, moist sponge, and fresh banana slices are layered again and again.
On top, crunchy Lotus cookie crumble, more banana, and nutty pistachios are scattered generously. I dug the spoon in deep for a full bite, and the cream melted the moment it hit my mouth!

Instead of an artificial syrup taste, it was the sweetness of well-ripened fresh banana mixing with the cream, and the flavor was seriously incredible. The crunchy crumble kept the texture interesting too — my husband and I scraped the cup clean in no time.
When you think tiramisu, you usually picture the classic version dusted with cocoa powder, but I had no idea a banana pairing could be this perfect. It wasn't overly sweet, more clean and light, so we didn't get tired of it even to the last bite. Quality like this could easily put it on any list of the best tiramisu in Busan.
If we hadn't already eaten a full meal, we would've ordered two. Haha. My husband and I agreed that next time, it's one tiramisu each.
Is Café Buajang worth a visit? Verdict and tips

Stepping away from the noise of Gwangalli Beach into this warm, house-turned-café space to quietly reflect for a while — it doesn't get much better than that. The lush plant interior, the sunlight streaming in so warmly, and the carefully made drinks and elegant desserts — everything about it was good.

If you're visiting on a weekend, I'd recommend going between 3 and 5pm, when the light comes in the prettiest. It's a great spot to grab a great photo at the window seat and quietly recharge, so I'm putting it on my list of café recommendations in Minrak-dong, Busan!

If you're looking for a quiet, atmospheric date spot or a great dessert café around Gwangalli, definitely stop by Café Buajang.
