Waterside park sashimi restaurant course in Busan: Geumrang Hoetjip
In short
Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant on the 6th floor of the Marine Rich building in Suyeong, Busan, looking straight out at Gwangan Bridge. After parking at the Waterside Park public lot, the writer came for a daytime meal and ordered the Subyeon hansang set for two at 60,000 won per person, which ran from the opening side dishes to premium mixed sashimi, spicy fish stew and merou steak. It made an easy lunch to pair with a walk along Millak Waterside Park on a Busan trip.

No trip to Gwangalli in Busan is complete without Gwangan Bridge.
This time I visited Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch, where you can take in a full view of Gwangan Bridge while eating hearty, fresh live-fish sashimi.

Geumrang Hoetjip has received the Blue Ribbon award three years running from 2024 to 2026, and it's also been picked for the Red Ribbon, so I was curious.

It's been featured on TV shows like Battle Trip, and more importantly, a friend from Busan recommended it as a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant, so I finally visited on this trip.
To cut to the conclusion: this was a place where you could stuff yourself full with sashimi, seafood, and a proper meal while looking out at Gwangan Bridge. 😊
Where is Geumrang Hoetjip, and where do you park?
Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch is on the 6th floor of Marine Rich, 17-5 Gwangan Beach-ro 344beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, and parking is supported for 2 hours. Parking can be a bit of a headache if you drive into Gwangalli, so having parking support was a real plus.
We drove there and parked comfortably at the waterside park public lot before walking over to the restaurant.
After the meal, it would be nice to continue on with a walk at Minrak Waterside Park right in front, or head toward Gwangalli Beach to look at the sea and stop by a café or dessert spot.
🌊 The Gwangan Bridge view from inside Geumrang Hoetjip
Cross into the building opposite the parking lot and take the elevator up to the 6th floor, and there's Geumrang Hoetjip.
Right from the entrance, Blue Ribbon and Red Ribbon stickers caught my eye, along with several celebrity autographs, giving the feeling of a place many people have visited over a long time.
The moment I stepped inside, the first thing I noticed was, of course, the Gwangan Bridge ocean view. One whole wall is floor-to-ceiling glass, with the bridge and sea spread out wide — I kept glancing out the window even while eating.
The restaurant itself is fairly spacious, so the tables weren't cramped, and besides regular tables there are also rooms for group gatherings. It seemed like a great fit for meals with friends, and equally suited for dates, family gatherings, or group meals where atmosphere matters.
Visiting in the evening especially seems like it would offer a great mood, from sunset all the way to the night view of Gwangan Bridge. 🌉
🦐 Geumrang Hoetjip menu and prices
Geumrang Hoetjip offers a range of options, from the ₩28,000 lunch special to the ₩80,000 Geumrang hansang set. There's everything from a relatively affordable lunch option to a premium mixed-sashimi course.

- Lunch special ₩28,000 per person
- Gwangan hansang set ₩50,000 per person
- Subyeon hansang set ₩60,000 per person
- Geumrang hansang set ₩80,000 per person
It seemed like a good choice whether you're coming for lunch with friends, on a date, or wanting a proper meal for a family or group gathering.
We wanted to properly enjoy delicious sashimi while looking out at Gwangan Bridge, so we ordered the subyeon hansang set for two.
🐟 Subyeon hansang for two: the side dishes alone were a feast
Ordering the suryeon hansang for two, the table was already full of banchan (side dishes) before the main sashimi even arrived. Not long after ordering, dishes started arriving one after another.

Buttered scallops, soy-marinated shrimp, seaweed soup, abalone porridge, steamed egg, kimchi pancake, corn cheese, and sashimi bibim noodles kept coming out. The table was already packed with just this, and it wasn't even over yet.
Abalone, sea squirt, spoon worm, sea cucumber, wasabi octopus, shrimp, salmon sushi, and finally live octopus tangtangi all appeared in turn.

The sides alone filled the whole table before the main sashimi had even come out.

Eating the seafood piece by piece while looking at Gwangan Bridge right beside us, the umami and ocean fragrance of fresh seafood filled my mouth.

The live octopus tangtangi, still wriggling, was fun just to watch.

Mixing the sauce well into the sashimi bibim noodles made them tangy and spicy, which really perked up the appetite.

The buttered scallops were savory and soft, and the abalone was chewy yet light. The soy-marinated shrimp was salty with a touch of sweetness from the shrimp, and would have paired well with rice too.
🌟 The main event: premium mixed sashimi
The main sashimi in Geumrang Hoetjip's suryeon hansang was a premium mixed sashimi plate made up of flounder, red seabream, halibut with fin, striped seabream, and largehead hairtail. And then the main sashimi we'd been waiting for finally arrived.

With Gwangan Bridge as the backdrop, the sashimi plate looked stunning the moment it was set down. There was so much food it felt like the table might collapse under the weight. 😂
The sashimi was cut thick overall, giving a good chew, and everything felt distinctly fresh.
The flounder was light yet chewy, and the red seabream had firm flesh with a clean umami taste.

The halibut was chewy yet light, and especially the fin part was crunchy with a bit of fattiness, offering a different texture from the halibut flesh.

The striped seabream was firm with a subtle sweetness that grew as you chewed, and the largehead hairtail was soft yet had just the right amount of chew — each had a slightly different charm.
I tried wrapping it in perilla leaves and pairing it with white kimchi and seaweed, trying out different combinations one after another.

With so much variety across the sides, seafood, and sashimi, even eating the same fish felt different depending on what you paired it with, so there was never a dull moment.
✨ Geumrang Hoetjip's signature touch: konowata (sea cucumber innards)
Above all, the real kicker at Geumrang Hoetjip was the konowata (salted sea cucumber intestines).
I tried piling a generous amount of konowata onto the sashimi, eating it like sushi.
The deep ocean flavor unique to konowata added itself in, and it really brought the umami of the sashimi to life.
It's a different taste from just dipping sashimi in soy sauce or vinegar-chili sauce as usual, so mixing and matching different combinations was fun.
💡 One free sashimi refill with the Subyeon hansang set

The suryeon hansang also comes with one free small-plate sashimi refill. We were already so full we could barely finish the sashimi that came with the set, so unfortunately we didn't get to use the refill.
The portions are really generous, so if you're a big eater, using the refill would let you enjoy it even more.
🍲 Fish stew and merou steak: the course keeps coming

Just as we were nearly finished, the staff started bringing out the next round of dishes.

Spicy fish stew, merou steak, egg-roe rice, addictive fried corn, and braised fish all came out for yet another round.
I was already so full, but the food kept coming, and it actually made me laugh.
The spicy fish stew was boiling hot, and one spoonful was warm and sharply spicy — perfect for the end of the meal. After eating my fill of sashimi, that warm broth was still tempting.

The egg-roe rice was delicious with its spicy seasoning, and the addictive fried corn had a great sweet-and-salty balance.
The merou steak flaked apart softly and paired well with the sweet sauce on top. Even on a full stomach, these were dishes I kept picking at little by little.
🌊 Is Geumrang Hoetjip worth it for an ocean-view meal in Gwangalli?
Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch is a great place to leisurely enjoy a variety of seafood and a sashimi course while looking out at Gwangan Bridge.

Even visiting at lunchtime, the Gwangan Bridge and sea outside the window were genuinely beautiful. Visiting in the evening would probably make for an even better mood, with the sunset leading into the night view of the bridge.
Parking support for 2 hours also made it less stressful to visit Gwangalli by car, and afterward it was easy to continue on with a walk at Minrak Waterside Park or head toward Gwangalli Beach for a café.
If you want to eat proper sashimi with an ocean view while in Gwangalli on a Busan trip, Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch is worth a visit at least once. It would suit meals with friends just as well as a Gwangalli date, family gathering, or group meal where atmosphere matters.
Above all, spending the whole meal looking out at Gwangan Bridge while eating fresh sashimi and seafood until I was completely full made this a memorable meal from my Busan trip. 🌊
