I wanted a clean, satisfying meal near Hyehwa Station, so I went to Sallering Daehak-ro. These days when I'm heading to a show or exhibition in Daehak-ro, I still want to eat something good, but sometimes I want something light and filling rather than too heavy, you know? Real fresh salmon bibim poke with 100g salmon, 19,400 won

What I ordered was the real fresh salmon bibim poke! The default salmon weight is 50g, but I paid an extra ₩4,000 to upgrade to 100g, bringing the price to ₩19,400 haha. I also grabbed an Almond Breeze Original for ₩1,500 to take with it ♥ Even with the salmon upgrade, this real fresh salmon bibim poke from Sallering in Daehak-ro was low on calories, so I'd highly recommend it to anyone dieting!!

Choosing a vegetable base and basil garlic mayo sauce

For the base you can choose between vegetables, brown rice and barley, whole wheat pasta, or egg strips, and since I wanted to eat light that day I went with vegetables only. I wasn't sure which sauce would go best, so on a recommendation I picked basil garlic mayo :) I already love basil, and the fragrant basil flavor combined with the savory garlic went so, so well with the salmon poke! Highly recommend basil garlic mayo sauce with salmon poke haha

How much salmon do you get with the 100g upgrade?

Once I upgraded to 100g of salmon, the portion turned out to be really generous. Sometimes poke bowls skimp on the salmon and it's disappointing, but this time there was plenty of it, so I was satisfied the whole way through, and the salmon looked fresh too, which made it even better haha

Toppings and texture of the vegetable-base poke

With the vegetable base, there was a generous amount of fresh mixed vegetables, plus mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, quail eggs, crab meat, egg strips, corn kernels, and fried onion flakes — so many different toppings that the texture varied a lot even within one bowl! The crunchy vegetables paired with the soft salmon, egg strips, and quail eggs, and the fried onion flakes added crispy bites throughout, making it much more fun to eat than a plain salad haha

When people think of poke, they usually picture a rice-based dish, but choosing the vegetable base made it feel like a really clean, light meal :) That doesn't mean the toppings were lacking, though — it was still filling. If you're looking for a good restaurant near Hyehwa Station or poke in Daehak-ro, I recommend Sallering Daehak-ro, where you can build your own poke to your taste in a clean, refreshing space ♥
