Mapo brunch café for handmade gnocchi: HEOD Gongdeok
In short
HEOD Gongdeok is a brunch café near Daeheung Station and the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail in Mapo, Seoul. I tried the kabocha cream gnocchi, truffle perilla-seed gnocchi, vanilla French toast, and a signature latte. Verdict: come prepared to order one gnocchi per person.

HEOD Gongdeok by Daeheung Station's Gyeongui Line Forest Trail
I've been going to Daeheung Station a lot lately. It is so lovely for a walk when the weather is nice, and the peaceful atmosphere is simply the best ㅜㅅㅜ
ㄴ Putting my newly received emoji sticker to very good use
Anyway, I visited Daeheung Station again last weekend! I finally made it to HEOD Gongdeok, which I had saved ages ago as a great gnocchi spot.

The address is 24 Gwangseong-ro 6-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on the first floor. Hours are 11:00–21:00, with last orders at 19:50 and a break from 15:30–17:00. There is no parking, but you can use Sinsu Outdoor Public Parking Lot for ₩2,400 per 30 minutes. Corkage is available for ₩20,000, and pets and reservations are welcome too.

Just look for the yellow sign!

They set the table so prettily, too.

This calm mood is honestly unreal,,, and the bar seats look out onto such lush greenery, so it is pure healing. (They also looked perfect for eating alone.)

How to order sets and café items
From here, the menu! You can order through the QR code on the table.
One thing I loved about HEOD Gongdeok is that there are seriously so many events ㅜㅜ Leave a photo review with a food photo on Naver or Catchtable and you can get orange juice or an Americano. They also have little birthday or anniversary celebrations, with a lettered plate or mini cake. I thought it would be such a lovely place to visit on an anniversary.

Set-menu hours
The lunch set is available on weekdays from 11:00–13:00, and not on weekends or public holidays. Coffee cannot be changed, and changing items may require paying the difference, so keep that in mind 🌝
The steak and gnocchi sets can be ordered from 11:00–19:50, excluding break time. French toast comes in vanilla, strawberry, and fruit options, while ades can be changed to an Americano or alcohol; a price difference may apply. The dinner set is also available from 11:00–19:50, excluding break time, and ades can be changed to an Americano or alcohol.

French toast and brunch menu
Their French toast is aged for a long time, so it is said to be soft and moist! It is even tastier dipped in buttercream and fruit, or vanilla ice cream and maple syrup, haha. Strawberry French toast is 16.0, vanilla French toast 13.8, butter French toast 12.8, and fruit French toast 16.0; the fruit changes daily with the season. Drinks are ₩1,000 off for takeout.

There are so many other brunch dishes, too! The 39.0 sous-vide flat iron steak is marinated and sous-vided, while the 19.8 chicken mashed potato comes with asparagus and chicken thigh in a house-made buttery potato sauce.

Butter salty cream latte and two kinds of gnocchi
First out were the iced Americano and butter salty cream latte! The Americano was good too, and the signature butter salty cream latte was seriously delicious ㅜㅜ I recommend it.

And then the gnocchi arrived!!!!! Kabocha cream gnocchi and truffle perilla-seed gnocchi 🥺💞 Gasp, gasp. It would not be an exaggeration to say I came here for these.
They told me that everything in the kabocha cream gnocchi—from the kabocha base and cream to the gnocchi itself—is made in-house. It was handmade gnocchi with the natural sweetness of kabocha and onion, plus a rich, deep flavor.
The truffle perilla-seed gnocchi had a perilla-seed-and-cream base that was packed, packed with nutty flavor—actually insane... There were several kinds of mushrooms too, so I got lots of different textures. It was generously topped with precious truffle, making the presentation absolutely overwhelming.
Anyway, both were seriously, seriously delicious…… I was completely satisfied. I would definitely order one gnocchi per person, but if you asked me to recommend just one, ah, I would painfully choose the kabocha cream gnocchi…

And vanilla French toast, too
Then came the vanilla French toast. It was so, so, so delicious ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ I think the best thing about HEOD Gongdeok is that you can sort out everything from a meal to brunch and café treats all at once. Thanks to that, I could order everything I wanted and have such a happy time.
For reference, tissues, wet wipes, and aprons are available at the self-service bar. If you need more pickles, whipped cream, syrup, sauce, or anything else, feel free to ask the staff. (They are sooo kind.) I absolutely recommend HEOD Gongdeok as a Daeheung Station brunch spot!!!!!
