Makgeolli bar near Jeongja Station with shrimp pancake: Jinnaedjang

Hi everyone! There are days when I regularly crave makgeolli (rice wine). And makgeolli always tastes better with good Korean food, especially. So I went looking around for a restaurant near Jeongja Station that serves food that pairs well with makgeolli, and I found a spot that serves savory, hearty doenjang jjigae along with crispy minari (water dropwort) pancake and beef pancake that go great with rice wine. Let me introduce Jin Doenjang, a bar near Jeongja Station!

Where is Jinnaedjang Bundang Jeongja, and is there parking?

Jinnaedjang Bundang Jeongja is on the 1st floor of a building at 6-1 Naejeong-ro 129beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, South Korea. There's parking space in front of the shop, so it's a fine place to visit by car too.

I visited around 7pm and there were a lot of takeout orders coming in too. It seems to already be famous as a doenjang jjigae restaurant in Jeongja-dong!

Walking into Jinnaedjang, a bar near Jeongja Station, I saw cute meju (fermented soybean block) decorations haha. The interior was also fairly spacious, so it was a nice place to come for a glass of makgeolli.

Since I came to Jinnaedjang, a doenjang jjigae restaurant near Jeongja Station, I had to order a savory, hearty doenjang jjigae! I added mushrooms to mine. As the meat juices mixed into the nutty soybean paste stew, the broth really came through.

With plenty of meat, tofu, and vegetables in the savory, spicy doenjang jjigae broth, you could easily finish a whole bowl of rice. If you're looking for a Korean restaurant near Jeongja Station, this is the one.

You could have a glass of makgeolli and use the doenjang jjigae broth as an anju (drinking snack), or mix it with rice for a hearty meal — it was a great doenjang jjigae in every way :)

Whole shrimp and minari pancake with albam makgeolli

Jinnaedjang, a Korean restaurant in Jeongja-dong, isn't just good at doenjang jjigae — they're really good at pancakes too. I ordered the whole shrimp minari pancake.

It was packed full of whole shrimp! The fragrant scent of minari and the plump texture of the whole shrimp were fantastic together.

The key point when eating pancake is the edges, and they grilled the edges really crispy, so it had that crunchy texture almost like fried food.

I ordered albam makgeolli (chestnut rice wine) and had it with the pancake and doenjang jjigae. It was slightly sweet, which paired well with Korean food. Eating delicious snacks together with makgeolli, I felt like I'd get tipsy in no time haha.
