I found a gyukatsu spot in Musil-dong that I'd been dying to try haha! Wait, I swear there was nothing here when I was a kid — since when did Musil-dong get this good?? Lolol. I came for a hearty meal at Ichigyu Wonju, a Wonju favorite located in the Lotte Cinema building in Musil-dong~

Full house even after lunch: is there a wait at Ichigyu Wonju?

Wow... seriously!!! The place was jam-packed when we walked in. Popular places are popular for a reason. Seems like there's a wait around lunchtime — we went a little bit after lunch and it was still so full we could barely squeeze past the tables. Whoa, looked delicious already 🤍

What's in Set 2: gyukatsu, hamburg omurice and two drinks

Wow, everything looked amazing — what to order? Gotta go with a set. We picked Set 2 (gyukatsu + hamburg omurice + 2 drinks) because the value was great. Spoiler alert: the hamburg omurice is genuinely a top-tier dish. Definitely give it a try at Ichigyu, a Wonju and Musil-dong favorite ❤️

Tabletop grill, rice refills and the 5,000-won mini curry

There's a tabletop grill included as standard, and rice arrives as soon as you sit down. Oh my, they give you so much rice, and they tell you to just ask if you need more — talk about top-notch service...!!

Real satisfaction. Not gonna lie, I also snuck in a mini curry (₩5,000) haha. My stomach's about to explode today.

Tasting the gyukatsu first: how serious is Ichigyu about beef?

Even with that many people around, the gyukatsu came out fast...!!

The story goes that Ichigyu was born from skills the owner learned cutting meat at their parents' butcher shop, and maybe that's why the meat quality is genuinely excellent! You can tell how serious they are about meat when you see the giant cut of beef at the entrance!!

But apparently they're not just serious about meat — they're serious about the omurice too?? I was seriously won over!!!!!

This is the real deal. I wanted that moment where the egg splits open, and it was so soft and pillowy!!!! I wish there was an omurice place like this near my house.

The hamburg steak tucked inside is another highlight — this is Ichigyu, a Wonju favorite :) I poured all the sauce on. Even the omurice sauce is delicious — it was exactly the upscale omurice I'd been hoping for!!!! Haha, I scraped the plate clean.

That sauce is seriously the real deal!!!! I took my first bite with the sauce, egg, and fried rice all together, and oh my, the hamburg steak said hello lolol

So then you just break the hamburg steak apart bit by bit as you eat — and it's crispy outside, juicy inside!!!!

And then back to the main dish — honestly, eating like this left me completely lost in the moment. Both dishes were so good ❤️ Lightly grilled over the tabletop fire, the meat's juices burst out while the outside stayed nice and crisp — wow, it just melted in my mouth// Once you try this, a return visit is guaranteed!

Almost forgot about the curry lolol. Ichigyu, a Wonju favorite, is known as a gyukatsu and tonkatsu specialist, but the omurice and curry were genuinely so good too? I'm definitely going every time I'm in Wonju. It's in the Lotte Cinema building, so you can stop by when you're seeing a movie there — there's so much to do nearby. Win 10 claw machine toys, hit up a noraebang (karaoke room), and grab this — it's the real deal!!!!!❤️

Friendly service and great food!!!!! I'm already craving it again and might just have to go eat it right now. The egg melts, the meat melts in your mouth — it disappeared the second we started eating lolol ❤️ Gyukatsu and omurice are hands-down top tier.
