Today I want to introduce a café I stumbled on during a trip to Gangneung — the emerald sea view there was just fantastic. It's Baegya Coffee, an ocean-view café right in front of Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung. Wide-open sea views plus delicious desserts made it a real deep-healing kind of place.

Near Gyeongpo Lake — is parking easy?
With a convenient location, easy parking, and an overwhelming scale, this huge Gangneung café is very close to Gyeongpodae, one of the city's main attractions, so it's also easy to reach for anyone visiting the Gyeongpo café area. Being right in front of Sacheonjin Beach also makes it perfect as a drive-course stop!! Best of all, there's a dedicated parking lot right in front of the store, so you can visit without worrying about parking at all, haha.
This place is one of Gangneung's landmark large bakery cafés, with an entire building operating as the café! The exterior alone is massive, and stepping inside, the soaring ceiling height and clean, modern interior really make an impression 🤍

1st-floor bakery and the order of getting seated
Stepping onto the 1st floor, the savory smell of bread fills the whole space. It's a Gangneung bakery café fully stocked, from all kinds of bakery breads to colorful, pretty cakes to dessert sets perfect for gifting.

Since this is such a standout ocean-view café in Gangneung, I highly recommend claiming a good seat with a sea view first when you arrive, then placing your order on the 1st floor afterward!

We also grabbed a good-view seat first, then went back down to order drinks and desserts, haha.

What we ordered and the wait time
- 1 tortilla sweet potato pizza
- 1 oksigi corn ice cream
- 2 iced Americanos
Even though there were quite a few customers at the time, the menu came out in what felt like about 3 minutes??? after ordering, so we got everything quickly with basically no wait, lol.

The elevator tray shelf was touching
Baegya Coffee is grand in scale, all the way up to the 4th-floor rooftop (Sky Stairs)... There's an elevator installed inside the café, which was really convenient for getting up to the higher floors. What was especially touching was that there's a shelf inside the elevator where you can rest your tray for a moment! When carrying drink and dessert trays, your arms don't get tired and you can move safely — the owner's thoughtful attention to detail really stood out!! ⭐️

Floor layout
According to the floor guide, you order on the 1st floor, while the 2nd and 3rd floors have ocean-view tables and terraces, and the 4th floor is a well-packed rooftop.

There are also a few tables on the 1st floor, and group seating like this too!!!
The East Sea from a 3rd-floor window seat
We took a window seat on the 3rd floor. The view of the East Sea stretching out beyond the window, with white waves visible all at once, was so satisfying right from the start... 🩵 Just staring blankly out the window seemed to wash away all everyday stress~~~

How the oksigi corn ice cream and tortilla sweet potato pizza tasted
First up was the oksigi corn ice cream I'd been most looking forward to. On top of sweet corn-flavored ice cream sat a generous scattering of toppings like corn kernels and crunchy cornflake-like bits. Every bite had a fun mix of popping texture and crunch, and the corn flavor was really rich — totally my taste!

The tortilla sweet potato pizza we ordered alongside it had a crispy thin-pizza feel, loaded generously with sweet, smooth sweet potato mousse..🍠 Full of that sweet-and-salty flavor!! It paired absolutely perfectly with the nutty, refreshing iced Americano. 💖
Lost in the fantastic atmosphere of this ocean-view Gangneung café, where you can almost hear the waves, chatting away over delicious desserts, we lost track of time and stayed for quite a while without even realizing it...

There's even a phone-charging zone
And there's a separate phone-charging zone set up in one corner of the store, which was handy to use when the battery ran low during our trip. You could feel the owner's small thoughtful touches toward customers all around the store, which made it even more satisfying! If you want to enjoy an open ocean view that captures the scale of the East Sea together with delicious baked goods, be sure to visit Baegya Coffee in front of Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung! I confidently recommend it as a healing spot. ✨ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
