Leaving the busy daily grind behind, I'm recording a happy moment I spent with my beloved family over a warm, thoughtfully made meal.

When eating out with a kid, I end up carefully checking everything — the menu lineup, the atmosphere, even how friendly the staff are! This time we went to Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch, a favorite spot in Toegye-dong, Chuncheon, and both the parents and the kid were totally satisfied, so I'm happily writing an honest review!

How was the parking and the atmosphere?

Parking is the thing I worry about most when driving somewhere with a kid! This place has a free basement parking lot fully set up behind the store, so even a new driver like me could park comfortably.

Stepping inside, the tidy, calm, upscale interior caught my eye right away and the atmosphere was really nice. As soon as we sat down, the staff greeted us warmly with bright smiles, so the meal started off on a good note even before the food arrived.

The first thing that came out was this place's signature, most popular menu — the Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set!

They say they only use the freshest 100% domestic Korean pork, fried fresh the moment you order! From the freshly fried look alone, the crispiness and savory aroma came through clearly.

It was really satisfying to enjoy three things at once: the low-fat, moist and tender fillet katsu, the loin katsu that gets more flavorful the more you chew, and the crispy, chunky king prawn tempura! Behind the crunchy texture, juicy bites burst out — truly the quality and taste befitting a favorite spot in Toegye-dong, Chuncheon.

Old-Style King Tonkatsu — the nostalgic charm, unchanged

Next up was the old-style king tonkatsu, filling a huge plate! I was surprised once by its generous size the moment it arrived, and won over a second time by the harmony of the crispy-outside, juicy-inside meat with the deep, sweet special sauce.

Even with plenty of sauce poured on top, the crispiness of the batter held up well, and thanks to the addictive sweetness that isn't overly strong, it's a dish everyone — young or old — could enjoy without complaint!

Cream Pasta — soft and savory, my kid's favorite

The cream pasta was also a great choice! The rich, thick, savory cream sauce coated every strand of noodle well, filling my mouth with a soft, mellow flavor.

It clearly suited my kid's taste too, since she picked up the fork herself and cleaned the plate — watching that made me so proud! Between the quality of the food and the kind service that took care of my kid, the whole meal felt comfortable and warm.
