Gangneung pet-friendly burger restaurant: Moana Burger

A seriously, seriously delicious handmade burger spot from this Gangneung trip! I’m 100% willing to visit every time I go to Gangneung. I’m absolutely recommending it to everyone around me heading to Gangneung! Keeping this review of <Moana Burger>, a great handmade burger spot in Chodang-dong, going.

Location and parking near Chodang Sundubu Alley

Mmmmmm.

It’s located by Chodang Sundubu Alley, close to the Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park, Gyeongpo Lake, and Gangmun Beach—a great location for a walk after eating! Or, on a nice day, it would be lovely to get takeaway, spread out a picnic mat by the sea, and zone out watching the water while eating.

We were staying at St. John's Hotel in particular, and it was just three minutes away by car, so we stopped by before check-in.

You can park in front of the restaurant! (Being able to park in Chodang-dong is such a plus... so easy.)

Hours: 11:00–21:00 (last order: 20:30). Closed every Tuesday, and dogs are welcome.

The entrance alone had such a hip vibe!

A spacious interior with a pub-like atmosphere

The tables were nicely spaced out, making it a comfortable place to chat, and the great music playing throughout gave it such a nice pub-like mood. We came for lunch, but it feels like it would be so good to come for a beer in the evening!!

And because it’s an open kitchen, you can see the whole cooking area—it was sooo clean and well kept, which really increased my trust.

The restaurant also has a resident Golden Chow named Yeoreum ..>.< Such a sweet, gentle dog who absolutely loved people. Since dogs are allowed, we brought our Prim along too. Even the restroom was kept nice and clean!

Fries come with the burgers, but soda isn’t included, so you can add drinks according to your preference. There are side dishes besides the burger menu, too!

Draft beer is ₩2,000 off when you order a burger..! I need to come back for draft beer.

We ordered the signature Moana Burger and Moana Double Burger. Plus a Coke Zero!

Even the wet wipes and individually wrapped disposable gloves were such thoughtful touches, seriously. They provide flower pins for people eating in, and putting one on my bag as an accent made it feel like I was really on a trip—so cute ><

The Moana Double Burger with two patties

The Moana Double Burger has two patties, and they burst with juices, but it somehow doesn’t feel greasy at all—a true meat-lover’s burger?! If you love meat, you can’t go wrong with this one. It became my husband’s favorite burger.

He kept saying the Moana Double Burger was so delicious, even after we got back to Seoul.. He kept saying Moana Burger was the best thing he ate on the trip...

The Moana Burger with fresh vegetables

The Moana Burger I ordered! A moist bun, fresh vegetables, and a patty full of juices—the combination was perfect. You can immediately tell it’s a quality handmade burger made with good ingredients. I love fresh burgers with vegetables and tomatoes, so the Moana Burger was exactly my taste! And the fries were incredibly good too, with a generous portion.

If you want that mouth-filling, juice-bursting meaty flavor, go for the Moana Double Burger! (My husband’s pick.) If you want fresh vegetables, a patty, and the textbook version of a quality handmade burger, I recommend the Moana Burger! (My pick.) We enjoyed both so much.

An evening-course option near St. John's Hotel

Moana Burger is one of the memorable restaurants from Gangneung. It’s a great restaurant and it allows dogs too, which I loved sooo much ㅠㅠ When staying at St. John's, walking over in the evening for a handmade burger, chili bean wedge potatoes, and a draft beer, then taking an evening stroll, sounds like an unbeatable course! (+ It would also be perfect to take away for a late-night snack.)

Above all, the owner was so kind, the restaurant was clean, and the Chow was adorable... I’ll definitely, definitely revisit when I’m in Gangneung!!
