I thought this was a jjukkumi-only place, but it turns out there's an all-you-can-eat menu where you can eat fresh pork belly and shaved pork belly along with it. I love both jjukkumi and meat, so this was perfect for me!

Walking inside, the space was bigger than I expected. There are several tables and the spacing between seats is fairly generous, so it's good for visiting with a group. I saw a family having a meal together and also a table of friends eating. Everything was neatly arranged overall, so I could sit and eat comfortably.

What's on the self-serve bar in Duam-dong?

We ordered the ₩23,500 menu that day so we could eat jjukkumi, fresh pork belly, and shaved pork belly all together. After ordering, we checked out the self-serve bar first.

Self-serve bar with wrap vegetables and side dishes

There were wrap vegetables like lettuce and perilla leaves, along with pickled radish, bean sprouts, garlic, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and more.

You can also help yourself to jjukkumi, fresh pork belly, and shaved pork belly. It's great being able to bring back just as much of whatever ingredient you want, so you can try a bit of everything. I especially love wraps, so I grabbed plenty of perilla leaves and lettuce haha

The split grill: jjukkumi and pork belly cooked at once

Ingredients placed on the split grill

I brought the food over and put it on the grill, and since the grill is split in half, one side stir-fried the seasoned jjukkumi and shaved pork belly while the other side grilled the fresh pork belly.

Thanks to that, I could grill pork belly while the jjukkumi was cooking.

Once the spicy jjukkumi smell started rising, I thought, yep, glad I came haha. Love that spicy smell!!

How I ate it: jjukkumi and shaved pork belly in a perilla wrap

Finished jjukkumi and shaved pork belly stir-fry

Jjukkumi and shaved pork belly taste great eaten together straight, and they also work well wrapped up.

Wrap combo with pickled radish and mayonnaise

My favorite combo is perilla leaf + jjukkumi + shaved pork belly + pickled radish + corn kernels + mayonnaise!!! I switched things up, sometimes putting pork belly on the wrap veggies, sometimes pairing it with jjukkumi. Since it's all-you-can-eat, it was great being able to pile on plenty of mayo with the perilla leaves.

If you visit in the evening, a lot of people pair jjukkumi with soju or beer. Since they happen to be running the unlimited drinks event, if you're planning to eat with drinks, Sin Jjukkumi in Duam-dong could be a good spot for a group dinner. Jjukkumi itself is pretty spicy, so it pairs well as a drinking snack, doesn't it??

Is Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch worth it? Final verdict

I visited that day because I was craving spicy jjukkumi after a while, and eating jjukkumi together with fresh pork belly and shaved pork belly turned out to be a more varied menu than I expected. It was especially fun that the grill is split, so you can stir-fry jjukkumi while grilling fresh pork belly at the same time.

Being able to grab as much wrap vegetables or side ingredients as you want from the self-serve bar made it fun to try out different combinations. It's a solid place to visit in the evening for a meal with a drink, so if you've been looking for a Duam-dong restaurant, a Duam-dong bar, or a Duam-dong place to eat, this one's worth checking out.

That day I ate the most of the jjukkumi and shaved pork belly combo haha. When I'm craving spicy food again, I think I'll be reaching for this menu again!
