In short
Sin Jjukkumi Unlimited Refill Duam Branch is an all-you-can-eat jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus) and pork belly restaurant and bar in Duam-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju. On this second visit the price was 23,500 won per adult for thin-sliced pork belly, thick-cut pork belly and jjukkumi grilled in turn on a half-and-half griddle, finished with fried rice, and even for a diner sensitive to off smells the meat was in good shape. Gwangju restaurant recommendation Sin Jjukkumi Unlimited Refill in Duam-dong Eat jjukkumi and pork belly until you burst for ₩23,500
Second visit to Sin Jjukkumi Unlimited Refill in Duam-dong, Gwangju

One of the places that comes to mind when I'm craving jjukkumi in Duam-dong is Sin Jjukkumi Unlimited Refill Duam Branch. This was my second visit, so it's basically a repeat favorite at this point. I went once, liked it, and came back — and I think anyone who hates skimpy portions of jjukkumi or pork belly will be especially satisfied here (that's me haha).

The place was huge and spacious. Lots of tables, laid out generously, so it looked great for groups too.

It seemed like a good fit for family dinners, hanging out with friends over a big meal, or even a work dinner.

Does the all-you-can-eat pork belly have any off smell?
What I liked most about Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch was that the meat quality didn't drop just because it's all-you-can-eat!

I'm the type who can't eat meat at all if there's even a slight off smell, but the thin-sliced pork belly, the thick pork belly, and the jjukkumi were all fresh.

At unlimited refill places, the portions are often generous but the meat quality can be a letdown — here, the meat was still good on my second visit, which won me over even more.

What's on the self-serve bar at Sin Jjukkumi
The self-serve bar was well stocked too. Bean sprouts, egg, mayonnaise, corn kernels, pickled radish, assorted vegetables, and other sides to go with the meal were all neatly laid out.

23,500 won per adult: the order to grill everything in

Grab the side dishes you want first, scoop out some jjukkumi, and you're ready to eat! Instead of piling on too much at once, I brought small amounts more often, which kept everything warm and tasty until the very end.

The table had a griddle split in half, so I grilled pork belly on one side and cooked jjukkumi on the other. (If I had this at home I'd definitely turn into a total pig...)

As the pork belly turned golden brown and released its fat, the spicy jjukkumi cooked away right next to it — the smell alone was incredible. ...!!!! I already knew jjukkumi and pork belly were a great combo, but coming here made me really understand why people eat jjuksam together.

Picking up a piece of spicy jjukkumi together with a bite of golden-grilled pork belly was genuinely a perfect match. The jjukkumi was plump and springy, the pork belly was savory, and together the flavor got so much richer.

Throwing in a ton of bean sprouts and cooking them together added a crunchy texture and toned down the spice a bit, so I kept going back for more. (Recommended if you're bad with spicy food!)

Wrapping pork belly and jjukkumi together in lettuce, with a little pickled radish or mayonnaise on the side, was also delicious.

A bit of meat, then some more jjukkumi, then back to meat again — a proper all-you-can-eat marathon.
Unlimited drinks for ₩10,000!
For drinkers, unlimited alcohol at ₩10,000 per person looked like a good deal. If you're planning to have more than two beers, I'd definitely recommend going unlimited haha.

Finishing with jjukkumi sauce fried rice

No matter how full I was, the finale had to be fried rice. I left a bit of jjukkumi, added rice to the sauce, and fried it up — throwing in extra pork belly too made it even more delicious haha (a pig's pro tip).

Filling up on meat and jjukkumi and then topping it off with carbs at the end left me walking out truly stuffed.
Would I go back to Sin Jjukkumi?
On my second visit, I once again ate well and generously at Sin Jjukkumi Unlimited Refill Duam Branch. It's especially well suited for anyone who's felt let down by skimpy jjukkumi portions elsewhere, or who wanted more pork belly when eating jjuksam. Even as an unlimited refill place, the meat and jjukkumi were in good condition, and the self-serve bar was kept clean, so I could eat as much as I wanted without worry. It's a place I'll keep thinking of whenever I'm in Duam-dong looking for good jjukkumi or craving a filling jjuksam meal.
