Sangin-dong yakitori restaurant in Daegu: ₩43,400 set, Toriaejeu

I went to Toriaejeu, a yakitori spot everyone raves about in Sangin-dong ;) with my husband — we used to date here back when we were dating, and I had such good memories of it, so we went again.

We took the subway, and it was about a 5–8 minute walk from Sangin Station ;)

The prices are so kind! Skewers start at ₩1,500, which makes it perfect for a light second round too. These days a lot of bars make you order a main before you can even get a side, but here you can go easy without any pressure ,,♥

Visiting at 6pm on a Saturday — is there a wait?

We went on Saturday evening at 6pm and had a reservation ;) We arrived right at opening so there was no wait. They mentioned there can be a wait from 8pm onward, so keep that in mind ~~~~~~~!

Since we had a reservation, our table was already marked out for us. Such a thoughtful owner — it made the weekend even better haha?

Inside Toriaejeu: atmosphere and seating

The Japanese vibe was strong, and with the great weather they had all the doors wide open — eating like that was so nice ㅠ

Besides the counter seats, there are also 4-tops and 2-tops in the back, so just sit wherever's comfortable ;)

Back to our seats — we sat at the counter, and with the doors all open like this the vibe was just amazing ㅠ Full-on Japanese mood, right down to that character figure whose name I don't even know

I noticed some people wearing coats now too — you can just hang your coat on the hooks and eat comfortably, hehe

We looked at the menu first, sat down, and ordered right away — we went with a set. They ask if you want all your skewers at once or grilled slowly one by one, so just let them know!

We chose to get all the skewers at once, so they were grilling them all up for us haha

What the skewers in the ₩43,400 "Autumn, Together" set taste like

We ordered Autumn, Together, and they served each skewer to us fresh off the grill in order — need I say more about chicken skewers? Pure love ㅠ And it looked like they brushed the tamagoyaki (rolled omelette) with a sweet soy sauce before grilling it — such a special touch, so good.

The grilled salted pollack roe skewer came out too — I don't normally eat pollack roe, but why is this so good ,,? Dip it deep in the mayo and it just disappears, hehe

Then the enoki skewer came out — there's real enoki mushroom inside! The texture is amazing!

The skin skewer and tsukune came out too — one each for each of us, plated so thoughtfully by the owner, hehe

Dip it in the sweet-salty soy sauce with egg yolk mixed in and it's savory and genuinely delicious ㅠ

The best dish of the night: suji-tang (beef tendon soup)

And now the real number one dish — suji-tang. I wanted to order it separately and even looked online to see if it's sold anywhere ,, it's genuinely deep, milky, spicy with a strong peppery kick, the tendon pieces are big, and it's totally my style. I really hope everyone who visits gets to try it.

And chicken thigh in spicy sauce too ,,♥ With this many dishes, picking and choosing is half the fun

Is Toriaejeu in Sangin-dong worth it?

If you go into Naver reservations there are lots of coupons too, so check them out and use one ;) Toriaejeu is my pick for a Sangin-dong date-night bar that nails both value and atmosphere. The prices are low enough to try a wide variety of skewers, making it perfect for solo drinking or a low-key second round too! The vibe is great enough to hold its own as a date spot. With the weather this nice, give Toriaejeu Sangin branch a try for a good mood and a good drink ~♥
