Three cutlets shared at Kkot Gatsu, a Dongtan pork cutlet restaurant
In short
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is a Japanese-style pork cutlet restaurant in Mokdong, Dongtan 2, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. On a Sunday evening there was no wait for a table, and the Cheese-Loin Cutlet Set (with hwa-udon) and the Loin-Tenderloin Cutlet arrived together, putting cheese cutlet, loin cutlet and tenderloin flower cutlet side by side; the Mokdong public parking lot gives 90 minutes free and is a 5-minute walk away. Each cutlet has its own texture, so Kkot Gatsu is an easy pick for a group that likes to share.

So today — wait, I had no idea there was a pork cutlet spot this good near Dongtan 2's Sancheok-dong...!!! Though Kkot Gatsu is actually in Mokdong (close to Sancheok-dong). Here's my visit review of Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch.

Where is Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch?
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is in Mokdong, Dongtan 2. Location-wise, it's in that up-and-coming corner of Dongtan 2's Dong 2 area...!!!!! More precisely, it's near the big post office, tucked into that corner packed with restaurants and cafés. There's a large Olive Young in Mokdong — go past it and keep heading in, and you'll find it haha.
Where to park at Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch parking — use the Mokdong public parking lot
I used the Mokdong public parking lot. Since there are so many shops around, finding a spot right in the commercial strip itself is basically a gamble ㅠㅠ. Luckily it's not far from Kkot Gatsu — about a 5-minute walk haha.

The public parking lot is huge and sits under a bridge, and it separates the entrance and exit — which honestly was a relief.

After parking under the bridge, I strolled over to Kkot Gatsu, la la~
Ah!! The Mokdong public parking lot is free for up to 1 hour 30 minutes (about 90 minutes)!! Visiting on a Sunday evening, that felt pretty comfortable haha.
Inside and outside Kkot Gatsu, and the Sunday evening wait
Oh! Raw wood as I walked up! Maybe because they put so much thought into the wood-based exterior design...? Anyway, it definitely smells like an upscale restaurant haha. Actually this was my first visit, but from what neighbors told me, it's popular enough that they even set up a waiting area outside!! (Kkot Gatsu — already a well-known spot!)

The front door is also nicely designed in raw wood. On a side note, the restaurant name is displayed in large Korean lettering that's easy to spot and read even from far away, which I liked.
Dun dun... I'd always heard there was a real wait since it's so popular, but luckily we visited on a Sunday evening, so we were seated right away with no wait 👍🏻👍🏻

Taking a quick look around inside, there are seats at the counter (near the register) and plenty of seats throughout the restaurant too!! Window-side, wall-side, and center-of-store seating were all well arranged!! Mostly 2- and 4-top tables, but I figured if you pushed them all together, you could fit a large group too haha.
And inside, you can see Kkot Gatsu's Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation excellence certificate~ There were also disposable aprons set out near the self-serve bar.

What's at the Kkot Gatsu self-serve bar?
Even though everything came out together with the food, there's a self-serve bar near the entrance with utensils, extra side dishes or small plates, and even wet wipes (having self-serve wet wipes too is a nice touch haha).

And when you order, the sauces and side dishes (pickled items) that come with the meal are also freely available at the self-serve bar, so you don't have to keep calling the staff over — which was really nice.

Anyway, Kkot Gatsu's self-serve bar is well stocked.
And on the spare wall, they project scenery on a screen, which fills out the space and helps set a nice mood for the meal haha.
We found a good spot and sat down haha (when there's no wait, you can just sit wherever's comfortable). Each table had tissues ready~ and they're running a Naver receipt review event too 👀 haha.

What's on the menu at Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch
Ta-da~ opening up the menu... (by the way, even the menu cover is wood — you can tell they put real care into it! Very detail-oriented!) There's a description of Kkot Gatsu...☆ Oh, apparently the pork is aged for a full 10 days, so it's got to be delicious haha.

Whoa, and the signature menu items — the flower cutlet and loin cutlet — are 200g...!!! each (the portion really is bigger than expected). There are set menus too~

There are also à la carte items~ plus drinks and add-ons...!! So what did I end up ordering?
How was the Cheese-Loin Cutlet Set with hwa-udon?
The Cheese-Loin Cutlet Set..!!! At Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch, I picked the set that comes with both cheese cutlet and loin cutlet, and chose hwa-udon as the udon option.

I like cheese and I like loin too...! so I went with the combo set haha. It's a great option when you can't pick just one, since you get to try both cheese cutlet and loin cutlet 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷
First, the cheese cutlet had a crispy fried crust packed with melted cheese inside, so the savory flavor hit right on the first bite!! The cheese stretched softly and chewy, pairing well with the crunchy coating, and the rich, distinctly cheesy taste definitely gave this dish real presence!

And the loin cutlet had that thick, meaty texture really coming through!!! The outside was crispy while the inside stayed juicy, and the more you chewed, the more that clean, savory loin flavor came out — switching back and forth with the cheese cutlet made for a great combo. Especially since the breading wasn't too thick or greasy, the flavor and texture of the meat really shone through!

What does the hwa-udon broth taste like?
For the udon in the set, I chose hwa-udon! Eating pork cutlet can get a little rich around the middle, and taking a sip of hwa-udon broth at that point cleared my palate right up haha.

The hot, spicy broth really perked up my appetite, and slurping down the chewy udon noodles on top made the hwa-udon itself more satisfying than I expected haha. (Kind of like yukgaejang [spicy beef soup], if I had to compare... which meant I kept catching myself spooning rice into the broth haha.) Anyway, a bite of crispy cutlet followed by a sip of spicy hwa-udon broth was an especially great combo!

And there was a salad that came with it too!!

Salt and wasabi sauce~ dipping each cutlet in these is seriously so good haha.

What is the Loin-Tenderloin Cutlet at Kkot Gatsu?
And my friend who came along ordered the loin-tenderloin cutlet...!! It's a menu that comes with both loin cutlet and tenderloin flower cutlet.

The loin cutlet is the same as in the set, but since it's not a set, this is the classic version — just cutlets, no udon!! haha. My friend even let me try a bite of the flower cutlet 🥹👍🏻

The flower cutlet definitely had that signature tenderloin softness. Even though it's sliced thick, it wasn't tough or dry at all — juicy and tender with each bite, and you could taste a subtle, clean meaty flavor 👍🏻👍🏻
Is Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch worth a visit?
Overall, the meat was thick yet tender, and the coating was fried crisp, making for a very satisfying pork cutlet experience at Kkot Gatsu...!!! In particular, the savoriness of the cheese cutlet, the chewy bite of the loin cutlet, and the juicy, tender texture of the flower cutlet each have their own charm, so it seems like a lot of fun to order a few different kinds and share them haha.
Add in the spicy, hot hwa-udon and it cuts right through the richness — a great combo overall! A good place to visit in Mokdong, Dongtan 2 whenever you're craving a thick, crispy Japanese-style pork cutlet, or want to try tenderloin, loin and cheese cutlet all in one sitting..!!!!
