Hi everyone~ it's Chaerim🤭 Haenggung-dong has so many pretty cafés, but part of the fun is also hunting down places where you can enjoy good food in a nice atmosphere too, right? This time, while wandering the Haenggung-dong alleys, I spotted Kueodeukkutteu — it looked like it had a great vibe, so I made a mental note and finally went♡

They have everything from pasta and risotto to dessert, and besides the indoor seating there's also a terrace, so on nice-weather days it's a great spot for an outdoor-dining vibe. If you're looking for somewhere to eat on a Haenggung-dong date, this place lets you have both the atmosphere and the food.

Inside the two-floor house space in Haenggung-dong
Kueodeukkutteu has a slightly different vibe from a typical restaurant, which is part of its charm. The space feels like it's built into a converted house, which fits well with the alley atmosphere unique to Haenggung-dong, and with the layout continuing from the 1st to the 2nd floor, the space was bigger than I expected.

The wood-tone furniture and warm lighting give the whole place a cozy feel, and there are cute little props scattered around, so it was also nice for photos. The 2nd floor especially has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the scenery — pretty with the sunlight streaming in during the day, and a bit calmer and nicer for dinner in the evening.

The terrace at Kueodeukkutteu on a nice day
One of the things that caught my eye at Kueodeukkutteu was the terrace. There are outdoor tables set up, so on cool-weather days it's a great place to enjoy a meal outside.
Wandering the Haenggung-dong alleys and then sitting at an outdoor table eating pasta and risotto kind of made me feel like I was on a trip. Especially in the evening, it seemed like a great spot for a date with that distinct outdoor-dining atmosphere, and I wanted to come back once the weather turns cooler.

What does Kueodeukkutteu's shrimp rosé pasta taste like?
The first thing we ordered at Kueodeukkutteu was the shrimp rosé pasta. The soft, savory flavor characteristic of rosé sauce was paired with shrimp, making it easy to eat without feeling heavy. The freshness of the tomato sauce and the smoothness of the cream were mixed in just the right balance, so the sauce coated the noodles nicely, and the shrimp added a nice savory depth.
The rosé sauce was thick but not too heavy, so it was fun twirling the noodles up with the sauce. If you like pasta, this is a menu you can enjoy without any complaints.

Truffle pea risotto with meat: hearty enough for a full meal
The second thing we ordered was the truffle pea risotto. Just visually, it's topped with a generous piece of meat, so it suits anyone looking for something hearty. The risotto is centered on a soft, savory flavor, with a subtle truffle aroma layered on top giving it quite a rich flavor.

The meat on top was nicely browned, and it paired well when eaten together with the risotto. The rice grains weren't overcooked and still had a bit of bite, which contrasted nicely with the creamy sauce. If the pasta was soft and rich, this truffle risotto had a deeper flavor thanks to the meat and the truffle aroma.
Ending the meal with perilla oil ice cream
The menu I was most curious about that day was the perilla oil ice cream. The name alone made me wonder what it would taste like, and the combination worked better than I expected. The cold, sweet ice cream paired with the distinct nutty aroma of perilla oil gave it a flavor different from regular ice cream haha

Eating it together with the savory topping on top, the nutty flavor kept coming through the sweetness, and I kept going back for more. Having it as dessert after the meal felt like it gently reset the rich flavors of the pasta and risotto still lingering in my mouth!! If you like something a bit more unusual than the usual desserts, this is worth trying at least once.
Why Kueodeukkutteu works for a Haenggung-dong date
Kueodeukkutteu wasn't the kind of place where you just eat and leave — it had the kind of atmosphere that's nice to linger in and enjoy the space itself. With seating split across the 1st and 2nd floors, there's a range of seating choices, and the terrace lets you dine outside depending on the weather, so it's a great addition to a Haenggung-dong date course.

It flows naturally as a course too — take a walk around Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion or Hwahongmun Gate, wander the Haenggung-dong alleys, then eat at Kueodeukkutteu and continue on to a café. You get pasta, risotto, and a unique dessert, so you can cover both the meal and dessert in one place.
Photo review event worth checking
If you visit Kueodeukkutteu, check out the photo review event too. There's a promotion where you get a free drink for writing a review, so if you're planning to leave feedback after your meal, it's worth taking advantage of. Ordering via QR code also made it easy to browse the menu slowly and choose.

For a Haenggung-dong dinner with atmosphere
The dishes I tried this time were the shrimp rosé pasta, truffle pea risotto, and perilla oil ice cream, and since each had a different flavor direction, they were great for sharing and trying one at a time. From the soft, rich rosé pasta, to the risotto with its subtle truffle aroma, to the nutty perilla oil ice cream at the end, the flow of the meal felt natural.

Above all, Kueodeukkutteu has a pretty indoor atmosphere, but it's also a place where you can enjoy the terrace on nice-weather days, so it suits anyone looking for an outdoor-dining date in Haenggung-dong. On a day when you want a relaxed date with a walk and a good meal in Haenggung-dong, this is a place worth remembering.
