Suwon dinner restaurant for thin pizza and lemon draft: Nonchalant Lounge
In short
Nonchalant Lounge is a Western restaurant between Janganmun and Hwahongmun in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. My family had an early dinner of bisque rosé pasta, steak platter, thin-crust pizza, and lemon draft beer in its warm, music-filled space. Verdict: a lovely stop before a walk around Janganmun.

The weather was lovely on Friday, so I went out to Haenggung-dong. We ended up visiting Nonchalant Lounge for a slightly early dinner. Haenggung-dong has plenty of pretty cafés and restaurants, but if you are looking for somewhere with a great evening atmosphere too, I would recommend Nonchalant Lounge. My family and I ordered pizza, pasta, and steak at this atmospheric spot and enjoyed every bit of it. Let me introduce Nonchalant Lounge, a Suwon Haenggung-dong restaurant where not only the setting but also the food was delicious.
Finding Nonchalant Lounge between Janganmun and Hwahongmun

Nonchalant Lounge sits on the main road between Janganmun and Hwahongmun.

It is across from the NongHyup Suwon Bukmun Branch parking lot, so it is easy to find even on a first visit. Finding parking in Haenggung-dong is not easy on weekdays as well as weekends. If you are driving, you can use Hwahongmun Public Parking Lot or Jangan-dong Public Parking Lot, both close to the restaurant. The nearest option is the paid NongHyup Suwon Bukmun Branch parking lot directly opposite. Even though there is a parking fee, it is convenient if you do not want to walk far.
From Tuesday through Friday, you can receive up to two hours of parking support by reserving through Naver and receiving a coupon. If you are planning a weekday visit, check the parking support while making your reservation.
A warm interior made for a date
The moment I walked in, the whole place felt warm.

The wood-toned furniture and orange lighting worked so well together, making the space cozy and full of atmosphere.

Perhaps because we visited for an early dinner, it was not crowded. We could eat comfortably and unhurriedly in the calm atmosphere.

Music played from one side, while a large screen showed performance videos by overseas artists. It was a nice place to have a meal and chat over gentle music.
The restaurant was also larger than I expected. The tables were comfortably spaced, with a variety of two-person and four-person tables as well as group seating with sofas.

There was an open kitchen in the middle, so we could see the busy kitchen at work. Each table looked a little different too, which made looking around the space fun.

You order by scanning the QR code on the table with your smartphone. It was convenient to look through the menu photos and descriptions at our own pace, then order right from our seats.
The pasta, steak, and thin pizza we ordered

- Bisque rosé pasta ₩19,000
- Chuck flap steak platter ₩37,000
- Crispy thin pizza ₩18,000
- Garlic butter rice ₩3,500
- Signature lemon draft beer ₩5,500
- Cola ₩2,500

That day, we ordered the bisque rosé pasta, chuck flap steak platter, crispy thin pizza, and lemon draft beer.
Bisque rosé pasta rich with seafood umami

First, I loved the bisque rosé pasta because the sauce was so rich. Unlike the sweet rosé sauces you often find, it had a deep seafood umami flavor balanced beautifully by the creaminess.

There was plenty of sauce coating the noodles, and the shrimp on top were plump too. A light squeeze of lemon added freshness, and I enjoyed it right through to the last bite.
Bite-sized chuck flap steak platter

I liked that the chuck flap steak platter came cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to eat. The meat was tender and juicy, with a subtle smoky char in every chew. Alternating between the butter galbi sauce and Maldon salt served alongside gave it different flavors. Cherry tomatoes and grilled mushrooms came as garnishes, and I enjoyed them with the steak in between bites.

Thin and crispy pizza
The crispy thin pizza had exactly what its name promised: a thin, crisp crust. It was generously topped with arugula and ham, and the clean, savory flavors went very well together.

The crust was not thick, so it did not feel heavy, and we kept reaching for it even between the pasta and steak.

We visited with a child, so I had hoped there would be rice, and luckily they had garlic butter rice. It was nutty and tasty, and even my child, who is not keen on trying new things, finished a bowl in no time.

The signature lemon draft beer arrived in a chilled glass and was refreshing from the first sip. Its bright lemon flavor was not overly sweet and paired well with the other dishes. Sometimes a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere can disappoint with the food, but at Nonchalant Lounge, every dish was delicious too.
A dinner route that continues with a walk around Janganmun

Thanks to the warm lighting and music, Nonchalant Lounge had a great atmosphere, and I was happy with everything we ordered, from pasta and steak to pizza. It somehow felt a little like being on an overseas trip, and we had such a pleasant mealtime.

It is also well located for continuing with a walk to Janganmun or Banghwasuryujeong after dinner, so it works nicely as part of a Haenggung-dong date itinerary. If you are looking for an atmospheric restaurant in Suwon's Haenggung-dong, or somewhere to enjoy delicious pasta and steak, I recommend Nonchalant Lounge.
