So this time, after hearing about a great-value Korean BBQ place, I headed to the newly opened Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch.
Spoiler first: the 1kg mixed beef platter is ₩88,000, which surprised me right away, and the meat quality was solid too — I'd honestly recommend this as the next department dinner spot!

I went in with a "it's new and supposedly great value — let's give it a try" kind of mindset.
Once I got there, the place was packed all evening — I could immediately tell it was popular.

What I liked most on my visit was the open-air atmosphere. There are close to 10 tables, and the group section fits up to 40 people.
It was a nice-weather day, so with the space open in the evening, a breeze drifted right in,
and grabbing beef and a drink after work — honestly, that's paradise haha 🤣

Since I'd reserved ahead, they had the table fully set up when I arrived!
The side dishes were varied — seasoned sauce, scallion salad, yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), radish & cabbage pickles, and perilla leaf pickles.

And I was surprised once more by the price. The 1kg mixed beef platter is ₩88,000! These days, going out for beef with even a few people quickly tops ₩100,000, so getting 1kg at this price felt really good!
Plus, joining the receipt review gets you steamed egg or doenjang sulbap, which made the value even better!
How the sirloin, hanging tender and shrimp meat tasted
Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch's mixed beef platter comes with a good balance of sirloin, hanging tender, and shrimp meat. The 1kg platter arrived looking so gorgeous..! The visual alone had me excited before I even took a bite haha
And now, the most important part — the taste!
Honestly, since it's a place known for value, I didn't expect much from the meat quality. I figured, "it's cheap, so the meat's probably just okay."
But once I grilled it myself, the meat quality turned out way better than expected!
Given the price, it was actually quite satisfying — no toughness or dryness, just tender and easy to eat.
You could really taste that savory beef flavor too, which made it perfect with a drink.
Since it's a mixed platter with various cuts, it didn't get boring — we enjoyed it all the way through.
Low price burden but still plenty of beef — the advantages as a team dinner spot were clear. Naturally, we ended up saying, "we could totally come back here for the next dinner."

Getting the side dish from the receipt review event made the meal even more filling!
We ordered the doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice bowl), and its spicy-salty flavor paired perfectly with the beef!
It was great for wrapping up the meal. Next time, I'd love to try the steamed egg too haha
