Hi everyone! It's Daesik Pig here.
I was looking for seafood good for special occasions, like king crab or snow crab, and ended up visiting Dosi Crab in Gusan-dong, Gimhae. This place sells snow crab, king crab, lobster, and more, with a spacious hall and private rooms — it looked like a good spot for family meals or gatherings.

This time I ordered brown king crab. The meat yield was decent, and I especially liked that it came already cleaned, which made it easy to eat. Let me walk through the parking, the restaurant's atmosphere, the table setting, and the fried rice, one by one.

Parking and opening hours at Dosi Crab Gimhae Branch
Dosi Crab has a parking lot right next to the store, which made it convenient to visit by car. A lot of people go to eat snow crab or king crab as a family and drive there, so having parking close by was a nice touch.

They're currently running a promotion where spending over ₩300,000 gets you round-trip Jeju flight tickets for two and a rental car voucher. The details and conditions may change depending on when you visit, so it's worth checking before you pay.

Private rooms, live tanks and checking the day's market price
Walking in through the front entrance, several signs catch your eye right away.

The inside has a fairly spacious hall, and private rooms are available too.

I was seated in a private room this time. Being separated from other guests made for a relatively comfortable meal. For anyone visiting with family or wanting a quieter atmosphere, the private room seems like a solid option.

Further inside, I spotted tanks holding snow crab and king crab.

Next to the tanks, the day's prices were posted, so you can check before ordering.

Snow crab and king crab are all sold at market price. On my visit I ordered brown king crab, weighing about 1.4kg, one whole crab.

What the 6,000 won adult table setting includes
Dosi Crab charges a separate table-setting fee.
- Adult: ₩6,000 per person
- Children: free
The ₩6,000 adult table-setting fee included soup, sushi, fried food, salad, bossam (boiled pork wrap), and desserts.

It wasn't just a few basic side dishes — several kinds of food came together, and personally I felt the spread itself was pretty good.

The butter-cheese grilled items were all set at the same price,

and for meal menus, fried rice and snow crab ramyeon (instant noodle soup) were available. I usually love fried rice and snow crab ramyeon, so having those meal options was nice.

First, soup, sushi, shrimp sashimi, fried food, and salad were set out. On top of that came bossam, several side dishes, and desserts. It was a spread that let you snack lightly while waiting for the king crab, alongside the main dish.

What I personally liked most about the table setting was that they give out gloves separately.

How much meat is in a 1.4 kg pre-cleaned brown king crab?
Soon after, the brown king crab I ordered arrived. The best part was that it came already cleaned and easy to eat. I didn't have to struggle cracking the shell myself, so I could just focus on eating. For anyone who loves king crab but finds the cleaning process a hassle, this style would be convenient.

A sign that came with the brown king crab had some brief info about the species. It was interesting to get a little explanation about the crab along with the food itself.

Above all, the king crab I had was decent in terms of yield. The meat felt relatively packed in, and it was fun picking meat out of both the legs and the body. Yield can vary by season or individual crab even within the same species, but the brown king crab I ordered that day was satisfying.

When searching for a good king crab restaurant in Gimhae, the main thing I cared about was the condition of the main dish, and this time it delivered on both cleaning convenience and yield. When eating king crab or snow crab, you often end up picking meat out by hand, so having gloves ready made it much more comfortable.

Fried rice with your choice of crab tomalley, plus dessert
After the king crab, I also ordered fried rice. Dosi Crab's fried rice lets you choose how the tomalley (crab innards) is used — either made with the tomalley from the crab you ordered, or with tomalley the restaurant keeps on hand. I asked them to make it with the restaurant's own tomalley.

Once the fried rice arrived, I mixed in the leftover tomalley from the king crab I'd eaten separately. Using up the leftover tomalley made for a more filling finish. If you're someone who likes enjoying not just the meat but the tomalley and fried rice too when eating snow crab or king crab, the meal menu is worth checking out.

After the meal, I finished up with strawberry yogurt. After eating something as heavy as king crab, a sweet, soft dessert felt like a nice way to wrap things up. Having dessert included in the table setting was a plus, and I could handle everything from main dish to dessert in one sitting.
Is Dosi Crab Gimhae worth it? Final take
Dosi Crab, which I visited this time, is a seafood restaurant selling snow crab, king crab, lobster, and more, with a spacious hall, private rooms, and parking right next to the store. The brown king crab I ordered was about 1.4kg and came pre-cleaned, which made it easy to eat. The yield was decent too, so the main dish was satisfying throughout the meal.
The adult table-setting fee is ₩6,000 per person, but it included soup, sushi, shrimp sashimi, fried food, salad, bossam, dessert, and more. Considering the spread, it was different from just getting basic side dishes.
That said, since snow crab and king crab are sold at market price, it's important to check the price and weight on the day of your visit. Deciding on a budget beforehand and checking the price before ordering should help with planning the meal.
If you're looking for a good king crab restaurant in Gimhae and want to eat in a private room or enjoy pre-cleaned king crab comfortably, Dosi Crab is worth considering. This time I had king crab, fried rice, and dessert, and what stuck with me most were the gloves provided, the pre-cleaned king crab, and the fried rice with a choice of tomalley. If you're planning to eat snow crab or king crab in Gusan-dong, Gimhae, check the parking, room availability, and the day's price before you go.
