Mild jjukkumi with yuja radish rice bowl in Yongin: Yubok Kalguksu
In short
Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch is a pufferfish seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and jjukkumi (stir-fried baby octopus) restaurant on Minsokchon-ro in Giheung-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. The writer ordered the pufferfish seafood kalguksu set for two at 30,000 won, simmering live clams, oysters, sea squirts and omandungi in pufferfish broth, then mixed the jjukkumi stir-fry with yuja (citron) radish salad into barley rice. Even her spice-shy partner handled the heat easily, so Yubok Kalguksu is a safe pick for a couple's or family meal.

Today I'm introducing a Korean Folk Village restaurant, a Bora-dong favorite: Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch.
Where is Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch, and is there parking?
Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch 📍Location: 24 Minsokchon-ro, 1st floor, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea 📍Hours: Daily 11:00–22:00 📍Parking: Available right in front of the restaurant

Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch is a favorite near the southern country club and the Korean Folk Village, known for its pufferfish seafood kalguksu and jjukkumi stir-fry. They say they simmer wild milkfish pufferfish — good for circulation, blood pressure, and blood sugar — for a long time to make the broth, so I had high expectations. Parking right in front of the shop is spacious, so no need to worry about that.

Inside Yubok Kalguksu: the dining room and how long the wait runs
Inside, the wood-tone interior felt calm and clean. Tables were spaced generously for a comfortable meal. With plenty of seats, it also seemed like a great pick for family gatherings or group dinners.
They also take walk-in waitlist entries through Catch Table. We visited on a weekday, so luckily there was no wait.

The dessert corner and self-serve side dish bar
There's a separate dessert corner with all kinds of snacks, plus a coffee machine and even an ice maker — such a nice touch.

Kimchi, radish salad, and other side dishes can be refilled anytime at the self-serve bar. ✨It was kept impressively clean✨

The menu: pufferfish seafood kalguksu set for two, 30,000 won
Ordering was super convenient with the table-order tablet at our seat. Besides the signature pufferfish seafood kalguksu set, which comes with the jjukkumi stir-fry, there was also jjukkumi seafood chive pancake, charcoal-grilled jjukkumi stir-fry, and other dishes. There was even baby rice for kids under 7 ✨such a thoughtful touch from the owner✨
Since we both love kalguksu and jjukkumi, we ordered the set that lets us try both!!

Let's read the instructions for eating it the best way~

How does the seafood kalguksu in pufferfish broth taste?
They first brought out a generous plate of fresh live clams, oysters, omandungi, and sea squirt that go into the pufferfish seafood kalguksu. The freshness really stood out — must be because the seafood is delivered same-day!!
They boil the seafood vigorously in the refreshing pufferfish broth. My mouth is already watering just thinking about it!!

✨The broth turns milky white the longer it boils✨ With all that seafood piled into the pufferfish-based broth, it was clean and refreshing yet really delicious. Compared to a regular clam kalguksu, the broth felt lighter but deeper in flavor. The noodles are made and aged fresh in-house every day, giving them the perfect chewy bounce.

I love spicy food, so I sprinkled on plenty of hot pepper flakes.
You need geotjeori (fresh cabbage kimchi) with kalguksu, right? It was truly spicy and savory, so I kept refilling it. They say the geotjeori is made fresh in-house every day. Now I'm really curious about their secret recipe.

Jjukkumi stir-fry mixed into barley rice with yuja radish salad
Next came the jjukkumi stir-fry✨ Overwhelmingly appetizing to look at. They say it's made with a secret sauce built on 20 years of know-how.

We each got our own barley rice, and mixing in the yuja radish salad and jjukkumi stir-fry made me so happy. The yuja radish salad was fragrant, tangy, and had a really distinctive character.

Even my jjukkumi-obsessed partner approved. The octopus itself was very plump, and the sauce's sweet-and-spicy balance was quite charming. Even my spice-shy partner could handle the heat with no trouble.

Is Yubok Kalguksu worth a trip near the Korean Folk Village?
Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch has a comfortable dining space and friendly staff, and its biggest strength is being able to enjoy refreshing seafood kalguksu, jjukkumi stir-fry, and barley rice all at once for a reasonable price. If you're looking for a great Yongin kalguksu restaurant near the Korean Folk Village, I recommend Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch!
