Today I visited Jinnaedjang Bundang Jeongja with a friend just before the holidays.
I usually love a savory doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and nutty beef jeon, so I was excited to see what this place would be like.

Being able to enjoy jeon and stew together made it a filling meal, and also a great Bundang hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) spot for a light drink.

It felt like a place I'd think of when I wanted a warm, home-cooked-style meal with my parents.
Where Jinnaedjang Bundang Jeongja is, near Jeongja Station
Jinnaedjang Bundang Jeongja is located at 6-1 Naejeong-ro 129beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, 1st floor.
Real meju blocks, real care about the food

The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was meju (dried fermented soybean blocks).
At first I thought it was decoration, but they told me it was real meju, not a model.
Seeing that really gave off the atmosphere of a place that specializes in doenjang jjigae.
It turns out Jinnaedjang is run by a family.
The mother, with 38 years of cooking experience, is in charge of the taste, the daughter holds nutritionist and sanitation certifications, and the father runs the hall.

Maybe because a family runs the place and puts care into every dish, I felt a warm, friendly atmosphere throughout the meal.
Reservations are available for up to 16 people, with group use or private hire possible, so it's worth keeping in mind for a Bundang family gathering or a Jeongja Station work dinner.
What we ordered at Jinnaedjang

That day we ordered mushroom-filled doenjang jjigae with an added assorted mushroom topping,

plus yukjeon-saeujeon, icy mukbap, and a Cass Zero 0.0.
With the stew, jeon, and cool mukbap all laid out across the table, it looked filling just to look at.
Mushroom-loaded doenjang jjigae: rich and nutty
We started with the mushroom-filled doenjang jjigae, still bubbling when it arrived.

True to its name, it was generously packed with mushrooms, and we added the 3,000-won assorted mushroom topping to make it even more filling.

Taking a first spoonful of the broth, I could really taste the deep, savory flavor of doenjang along with a rich umami kick.

It was rich but not heavy, clean enough that my spoon kept going back for more with rice.
Picking out the different mushrooms made it fun to eat, and it worked well as a filling Bundang hanjeongsik meal.
They said you can also add toppings like beef, ugeoji, crab & prawn, tofu, or assorted mushrooms depending on preference, so I'd love to try a different combination next time.

Yukjeon-saeujeon: beef and shrimp pancakes on one plate

The dish I was especially looking forward to was the yukjeon-saeujeon for 17,900 won.
It's a plate that lets you try both yukjeon, made with low-temperature aged beef, and saeujeon, made with raw shrimp meat,

in one dish, so we got to enjoy both kinds of jeon evenly.
They said Jinnaedjang's handmade jeon aren't made in advance — they're cooked fresh, mixing fresh ingredients into a special low-temperature aged batter right after you order.

That's why the cooking time can be around 15 minutes after ordering.
Eating it hot right away, the outside was nutty and the inside was tender and moist, so it was worth the wait.
I especially liked alternating between the beef and shrimp jeon, enjoying the different textures and flavors.
The banchan (side dishes) served with the meal
The basic side dishes were neatly arranged: kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), seasoned bean sprouts, pickled onions, seasoned acorn jelly, and seasoned chives.
The tangy pickled onions and chives went really well with the nutty beef jeon.
After finishing the basic side dishes, we could conveniently grab more from a self-service corner as needed.
Icy mukbap that refreshes the palate
Between the jeon and the doenjang jjigae, we also had the icy mukbap for 10,000 won.
It was topped generously with five kinds of vegetables and had a slushy layer of ice floating on top, which looked refreshing just to see.
Eating the soft acorn jelly and crunchy vegetables together in the cold, tangy broth felt like a refreshing palate cleanser after the jeon.

Pairing the cool mukbap between the warm doenjang jjigae and nutty jeon made for a great combination of dishes.

Cass Zero 0.0, an easy lunchtime drink
Since we visited in the morning, we paired the meal with a Cass Zero 0.0 non-alcoholic beer.
Cool carbonation really does go well with jeon.
At 0.0% alcohol, we could enjoy it refreshingly even during lunchtime,
and it was also great for cleansing the palate after the jeon.
Photo review perk: a free mango ade

Jinnaedjang Bundang Jeongja is currently running a photo review event.

They said participants get a mango ade with real mango flesh, so if you visit, check with the store whether the event is still running and how to take part.
Would I bring my parents back to Jinnaedjang?

Throughout the meal, delivery order notifications kept going off.

It was impressive to see not just dine-in customers but a steady stream of delivery orders too.
Above all, I liked that as a family-run place, they cook the food as soon as an order comes in,

and that they clearly value freshness and cleanliness.
With the savory, rich doenjang jjigae alongside freshly fried beef and shrimp jeon and cool mukbap, it really was a filling meal.
When I want warm Korean food made with care rather than flashiness, or want to enjoy Bundang hanjeongsik with my parents, this is a place I'd want to visit again.
Maybe because I ate it right before the holidays, Jinnaedjang Bundang Jeongja felt even warmer and more heartfelt.

Thanks to the effort and care the family puts into every dish, I had a really delicious meal with my friend. :)
