Dunchon-dong unmanned egg shop with same-day laid eggs: Fresh Farmer
In short
Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store is a 24-hour unmanned egg shop on the basement level of Park Foreon in Dunchon-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, right outside Exit 1 of Dunchon-dong Station. A staff member walked through the options before the visit ended with two picks, organic free-range fertile eggs and animal-welfare fertile eggs, and explained that eggs laid the same day appear every Tuesday and Thursday after 6pm. Even a first-time egg buyer can choose confidently at Fresh Farmer.

Why I thought all eggs were pretty much the same
I usually just bought eggs at the supermarket. Honestly, I thought eggs were basically all the same. But it turns out the environment a hen grows up in, and what it eats, makes a surprisingly big difference. Unlike the caged eggs you commonly see, eggs from hens raised in animal-welfare or free-range environments have higher omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D and E, and much less of that eggy smell.

Once I realized nutrition and taste can differ this much depending on rearing environment, I wanted to pick something better, since eggs are something I eat every day anyway.
So I went looking, and found Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store. Turns out it's known as "the eggs Son Yeon-jae eats" and as a Dunchon-dong Station favorite. It's apparently pretty well known among people hunting for Gangdong-gu food spots too, which made me even more curious.

Where Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store is and how to find it
Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store is at B1 B122, Park Foreon, 1360 Yangjae-daero, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It's 12m from Exit 1 of Dunchon-dong Station on Line 5, and it's a 24-hour, year-round unmanned shop.

Among the underground shops at Park Foreon, Fresh Farmer sits in 'Foreon Station 5,' the main shopping arcade on the Line 5/Dunchon-dong Station side. Foreon Station 5 is quite large — 477 storefronts, 9 elevators, 4 escalators. The parking lot alone has 526 spaces, so rather than just taking any elevator, it's worth confirming the route that connects straight to B1.
Parking at Foreon Station 5 if you drive
- Enter 'Foreon Station 5 parking lot' or '1360 Yangjae-daero, Gangdong-gu, Seoul' into navigation
- Enter the underground parking lot for the arcade (park near the elevator or escalator marked 'Shops/Foreon Station 5')
- After parking, head to the B1 arcade (basement level 1)
- Look for B116 Mikado Sushi first (it's the outer-facing shop — Fresh Farmer is tucked further in and hard to see from outside)
- Then head to B122, Fresh Farmer
The Son Yeon-jae video playing inside the shop
The first thing that caught my eye walking in was a video and photos of Son Yeon-jae cooking with Fresh Farmer eggs. The former national rhythmic gymnast reportedly eats these herself,

There's also a photo of Son Yeon-jae on the front of the egg boxes, which added to my trust. I found it striking that since becoming a mother, she reportedly became even more careful about choosing ingredients for her family.

Staff explained the difference between egg codes 1 and 2
I knew nothing about eggs and was just standing there blankly when a staff member came up and patiently explained everything, from the difference between egg code 1 and 2 to the rearing environments, and even recommended which eggs I should buy. Thanks to that, even I, who had no idea what to pick, could decide without much trouble. (It's normally unmanned, but I think someone happened to be there at the time.)

Same-day laid eggs: Tuesdays and Thursdays after 6pm
If you visit every Tuesday or Thursday after 6pm, you can apparently get eggs laid that same day. Imagine getting to eat eggs that fresh! If you want the freshest eggs possible, I'd recommend visiting during that window.

The eggs recommended to me when I visited had a laid date of 2026.09.17 and a best-before date of 2026.10.31 printed on them, which was neat to see and made me trust them even more.

The packaging had Organic, Animal Welfare, Antibiotic-Free, and HACCP marks side by side, which added to my confidence — and I was told these aren't just eggs but nationally certified eggs.
The two kinds of eggs I was recommended
Organic free-range fertile eggs

The first recommendation was the organic free-range fertile eggs. The box has a Korea Premium Brand Awards 2020 mention printed on it, and they're laid by hens raised on 100% natural organic feed. And having Son Yeon-jae's photo on the box just makes it feel more trustworthy — what can I say!
Animal-welfare fertile eggs

The second recommendation was the animal-welfare-certified fertile eggs (High-end limited edition). Packaged elegantly in a black box with gold trim, I was told these are functional eggs boosted with probiotics and anti-inflammatory properties using Fresh Farmer's own patented technology.

Paying at the kiosk
Once you've picked your eggs, you check out at the kiosk.

I went in just to buy eggs and came out feeling like I'd gotten a full lesson in rearing environments, egg codes, and certification marks. Thanks to the detailed explanation, what I liked most was that even a first-time visitor could pick without getting confused.
They also offer delivery and subscriptions!

I brought home the healthy eggs Son Yeon-jae eats too — Fresh Farmer. If you care about your health and your family's, give Son Yeon-jae's eggs, the Dunchon-dong favorite, a try at Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store.
