Why I needed computer glasses after LASIK
I visited Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch in Gijang wanting to get a nice pair of protective glasses. My eyes have been a lot more sensitive lately since my LASIK surgery.
Especially after long computer sessions, my eyes sting and feel raw ㅠㅠ If I work for a long time without glasses, my eyes get tired fast. So I always wear protective glasses now.
A friend recommended this place, saying they have a wide range of frames and are really friendly. I went in with a rough idea of what I wanted, but once I got there, there were so many pretty glasses that it took forever to pick haha.
What the Barabon Glasses storefront looks like

It's located in the Ilgwang New City commercial block. Since it's a new town, the streets are wide, so even as a first-time visitor I didn't have much trouble finding it.

A clean, white-toned eyewear shop!

They seem to carry a wide variety of daily lenses too. A YouTuber I like has been introducing all kinds of lenses lately, and these days people wear lenses not just for vision correction but for beauty purposes too. Just switching lenses changes your eye color and completely changes your whole vibe. The models wearing them had such pretty eye colors haha, so I got curious and peeked at the daily lens selection while passing by haha.
Can you drive to Barabon Glasses? Parking options

I happened to visit during roadside parking hours, so I parked right in front of the shop and walked in. Parking is always a bit of a worry when going to get glasses, and that matters a lot if you're driving there.
And for times when roadside parking is hard, like the hour I visited, they said they also offer parking support at the nearby KS Parking Building. Good to know if you're driving to get glasses!
Inside Barabon Glasses and the eye exam room
Walking inside, the whole space felt bright and clean.

Maybe because the lighting was bright, it was easy to look at each frame individually, and the displayed glasses really caught the eye.

This is the contact lens zone! While I was browsing glasses, customers kept coming in, and turns out quite a few were there to buy contact lenses. Seems like people come here to check out both glasses and lenses.

There's an eye exam room next to it too.

On one side there's a table with drinks ready, so my husband sat there and waited comfortably haha. Picking out glasses always takes a while, right? Am I the only one? haha Trying things on, checking the mirror, comparing what suits me — time just flies.
And what I loved most was that the optician never made me feel rushed at all! At glasses shops you sometimes feel awkward trying on too many, but here they told me to just relax and try on as much as I wanted, so I picked really comfortably haha.
Trying on frames at Barabon Glasses
Now for the main event — browsing frames!
Basic glasses frames

They carry a lot of the eyewear brands celebrities often wear, so there were tons of pretty frames. Each brand display had photos of celebrities wearing them, which was helpful for picking.

There were also lots of thick-rimmed frames.

These are the thinner frames. The lens shape is different, so trying them on completely changes your first impression.

Lately I keep gravitating toward bright-colored frames too.

So many pretty ones that picking got harder and harder haha.

Honestly, I went in with a style in mind, but once I tried on several pairs, my thinking completely changed. This one's pretty too? So is that one? You really have to try glasses on yourself. Glasses that look great on the shelf and glasses that suit your face shape are two different things.
So I tried on this and that, held them up to my face, compared colors, and kept checking the mirror haha. After all that deliberating, I finally picked a frame I loved and added blue-light-blocking lenses too!
Kids' glasses frames

There was also a great range of kids' glasses, so while I browsed mine, my son was busy browsing too haha. Nice that he's now at an age we can shop together haha.
Sunglasses and sports sunglasses

There was also quite a variety of sunglasses. With UV so strong and the sun this hot these days, sunglasses feel essential on scorching days. I peeked to see if there were any cute ones haha — my shopping urge just keeps welling up haha.
Barabon Glasses review event

They're also running a review event! Grabbing a little extra gift while I'm at it haha.
My verdict after choosing glasses at Barabon Glasses
Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch is right inside Ilgwang New City, so it was easy to stop by while out and about in Gijang, and with such a wide range of frames, it was fun trying on different ones myself. Best of all, since they let me browse so comfortably, I got to try on as much as I wanted without feeling awkward haha.

This place would work well for anyone who needs glasses like me, and also for anyone who wants to take their time browsing pretty frames.
