Takeout banh mi café near Isunsin Square in Yeosu: Avocado Yeosu

These days my happy memories of Yeosu are still lingering in my head... the weather's turning cool and it really feels like fall now, and on days like this I get this desperate urge to go traveling again. How beautiful must Yeosu's autumn be, how blue and pretty the sea must look, ugh. Still, if I hold onto those good Yeosu memories and keep plugging away day by day, good things will come, right? Haha. Today's story is about the banh mi from Avocado Yeosu, which was great to eat in the evening with a beer while looking at the sea.

Finding Avocado Yeosu on the main street by Isunsin Square

Avocado Yeosu is located near the main street around Isunsin Square. Isunsin Square is one of Yeosu's representative tourist spots, a neighborhood packed with food places, so there's a huge amount of foot traffic here and plenty of good restaurants nearby — it's really nice for hanging around this area.

Vietnam, met in Yeosu. Isn't that so charming, haha. Banh mi and avocado ice cream. The way to enjoy Vietnam in Yeosu is either banh mi with a beer while looking at the sea, or a delicious Vietnamese coffee while healing by the sea view, haha. I'd obviously pick the former though, lol.

Inside Avocado Yeosu: a café full of cute little details

The inside of Avocado Yeosu is so cute and detailed that you can tell how much care and effort the owner put into it. Each little prop and decoration somehow gave off a vibe like you just had to buy an avocado something. Part of the point of traveling in Yeosu is this kind of emotional, aesthetic travel experience, and I got a real dose of that feeling here. I really love Avocado Yeosu, haha.

Why the avocado banh mi was the takeout pick

There's a wide range of menu items, but since I personally love banh mi, I ordered the avocado banh mi. Banh mi works amazingly well as a meal, but it's also fantastic as a beer snack. With the single-minded goal of having banh mi and a beer at the guesthouse that evening while looking at the sea, I happily asked for it to go. The staff member, who seemed to be a part-timer, was so kind that it made Yeosu feel even more welcoming as a tourist destination.

Avocado Yeosu's receipt review event

Avocado Yeosu was also running a receipt review event. They give out prizes based on the number of reviews written, and the event felt noticeably higher quality than your typical Naver review event. I should have entered, of course, but I'd already gotten a discount through a different event so I couldn't participate in this one. Still, I'd definitely recommend others give it a try, haha.

Walking back to the guesthouse with the packed banh mi in hand. After already having raw fish and soju nearby, the thought of finishing the day with banh mi and beer made my steps feel light and excited. Among human needs, the survival need is supposedly the most basic one, and I think my appetite in particular is just enormous, haha.

Cracking open a nice beer with the Avocado Yeosu banh mi, and it hit me — this is Yeosu! Haha. You might wonder what Vietnam is doing in Yeosu of all places, but strangely enough, it turned out to be such a great combination that it's stayed with me as a really good memory. I have a feeling that whenever I come back to Yeosu, I'll probably stop by here again.
