After a long while, I went on a family outing to Jeonju Hanok Village and decided to properly enjoy some real Jeonju Hanok Village snacks. Among the countless street-food stalls in the village, I headed to 📍Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch, which had the highest ratings.
A stately hanok exterior and convenient kiosk ordering

The shop is housed in a beautiful hanok building with a tiled roof and stone wall backdrop, so you could feel Jeonju's classic atmosphere from the outside alone 🤎

Ordering was quick and easy through the kiosk set up at the entrance — really convenient ☺️

The menu is packed with the signature Jeonju Hanok Village foods: mun-kkochi (octopus skewers), mungangjeong (fried octopus), and chicken skewers 🥰 For the skewers, you can choose katsuobushi, mala (spicy numbing), or cheese depending on your taste ✅

The drink and dessert lineup was varied too 🤩 From cool slushy beer to mango, green apple, and strawberry slushies, there was plenty to quench your thirst.

There were also colorful character slushies to catch kids' eyes, so drinks for the children were covered too. On top of that, they had nutty Sangha Farm milk ice cream, so snacks, drinks, and dessert after a meal were all covered in one place 🍦

Realistic food models were displayed in front of the counter, which made it easy to check what each dish looked like before ordering 😄

An outdoor simple table where you can sit and eat

You know how it can feel like a hassle to eat street food while walking? 😌 Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch has a simple outdoor table and chairs set up behind the shop, with a hanok wall as the backdrop, where you can sit down and eat 🍴

Being able to sit outdoors, cool and comfortable, while eating was really satisfying 👍🏻
A perfect combo of open-fire smokiness and natural cheese

At Munkkocchi Hanok Village Branch, they grill over an open flame the moment you order, so we got everything piping hot 🐙

The katsuobushi octopus skewer had bonito flakes dancing over the heat, and they paired perfectly with the sweet-salty special sauce 😍 The skewer came on its own paper holder, so the sauce didn't get on our hands and we could eat it cleanly.

The chewiness of the octopus combined with the teriyaki flavor immediately made me think of a cold beer 🍺 I instantly understood why the owner also sells slushy beer, haha.

The outside was grilled to a nice golden brown, but the inside wasn't tough at all — it was full of juices, and every bite had that lively chewy texture 😋

Honestly, I only knew about the octopus skewers, so I ordered the mungangjeong with no expectations — but the cheese mungangjeong turned out to be exactly my taste 🤤 The crispy batter and rich cheese came together so well that I was won over from the very first bite 😘

The key, apparently, is that they only use natural cheese that's over 99% mozzarella, not frozen 🧀 The moment I picked up the golden, charred cheese, it stretched out long without breaking.
The rich, nutty cheese flavor, the subtle smokiness from the open flame, and the chewy octopus came together in a truly outstanding combination 👏🏻
If you participate in the Naver receipt review event, you can get a free cool, sweet sikhye (rice punch), so don't miss it 🥳
