Jeonju steak restaurant for tender Korean beef: Adam
In short
Adam is a Western restaurant in Jeonju’s Gaekridan-gil alley. I tried the Korean beef striploin steak, which was tender enough to cut with a fork and came nicely paired with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Verdict: Adam is a cozy choice for a Jeonju dinner date near Gaeksa or Hanok Village.

Today, I’m going to tell you about Adam, a lovely Western restaurant I visited while looking for a place with a nice atmosphere in Jeonju’s Gaekridan-gil. It offers a range of Western dishes centered on pasta and steak.
Adam’s location and parking in Jeonju’s Gaekridan-gil
Adam is on the first floor at 45-6 Jeonjugaeksa 2-gil, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province. It sits farther into a Gaekridan-gil alley, across from Pungnam Tourist Hotel, so it was not difficult to find. It is also an easy enough walk from Hanok Village, so it seemed like a good dinner stop during a trip to Jeonju.
Adam does not have its own parking lot, so if you are driving, you will need to use a nearby paid lot. Reviews mention nearby public paid parking and Jangmi Paid Parking Lot, so I recommend checking parking options in advance if you need them. Hours are 17:00 to 23:00, with last orders at 22:30; it is regularly closed every Tuesday.
From the exterior, Adam felt small and cozy rather than big and flashy, just like its name. It settled naturally into the alley, the sort of place that catches your eye again when you happen upon it, haha. There was a subtle charm right from the entrance, making it a nice spot for photos too 📷

A quiet, cozy atmosphere for dinner
Inside, it was not an especially large restaurant, but that made the space feel even cozier. The lighting was soft rather than overly bright, and the atmosphere was particularly lovely in the evening. The tables and decorative pieces were neatly arranged throughout; instead of feeling overly styled, it felt set up for a comfortable meal.

The tables were reasonably spaced and the restaurant was quiet, so I thought it would be nice for couples. It seemed especially well suited to people looking for somewhere to eat while on a date in Gaekridan-gil, or for two friends sharing tasty food and a glass of wine. I also liked that it was not a restaurant with an overly formal feel, so it was easy to walk in and relax.
Korean beef striploin steak and sauces
The menu included a variety of Western dishes, including steak, pasta, stew, and sujebi (hand-torn dough soup). The Korean beef striploin steak especially caught my eye. The nicely cooked meat came with button mushrooms, pine mushrooms, and mashed potatoes, making for a satisfying-looking plate. There were also sauces that pair well with steak, such as yuzu salt and whole-grain mustard.

It seemed like a good place to visit on an evening when you want a little atmosphere. Gaekridan-gil itself is convenient for moving on to a nearby café or another spot after dinner, so it is easy to make part of a date course.

Tender meat that cut easily with a fork
The meat was more tender than I expected—tender enough to cut with a fork. It went down softly without any chewy toughness, which was nice, and it was good for enjoying the flavor of the meat itself. House-made yuzu salt, whole-grain mustard, and plain salt were served alongside it, so you could pair them according to your taste that day. I liked dipping it simply in salt best, since that let the flavor of the meat come through most clearly.
I ordered the steak as Korean beef striploin, and it arrived looking deliciously cooked 🥩 The surface was nicely browned while the inside looked moist, so my first impression was quite promising. The button mushrooms and pine mushrooms served alongside it went well with the steak, and the mashed potatoes made the plate feel generously put together.

The steak was delicious on its own, but adding mushrooms or mashed potatoes changed the flavors little by little, which made it fun to eat. In particular, a piece of steak with the soft mashed potatoes was a very good combination, haha. The portion was not too heavy, so it would be good to order with pasta or another dish to share; it is the kind of menu item that might come to mind when you want steak with a nice atmosphere in Gaekridan-gil.

Pasta that is good for sharing with steak
There were many kinds of pasta, making it easy to choose based on your preferences. There were also more unusual options, such as white ragù pasta and perilla oil salted-octopus capellini, so those who find ordinary cream or tomato pasta a little lacking could have fun choosing. Ordering one steak and one pasta to share also seemed like a good combination.

It seems well suited to anyone looking for a dinner-date spot around Hanok Village or Gaeksa. If you want to enjoy delicious Western food in an atmosphere that does not feel too demanding, it would be worth stopping by at least once 😊
