Sokcho bar with outdoor deck platforms: squid sukhoe at Seo Jubang
In short
Seo Jubang is a Korean cooking bar on the Yeongnang Beach pojangmacha (street-food bar) strip near Sokcho Lighthouse Beach, with raised outdoor deck platforms for open-air drinking and wide group tables inside. The 53,000-won juanssang drinking set came with whole tofu duruchigi as the main, plus abai sundae, steamed scallops, squid sukhoe (blanched squid) and a pollack roe mayo potato salad, and a receipt review earns one more serving of squid sukhoe. For both atmosphere and solid drinking food in Sokcho, Seo Jubang is a strong pick.

Seo Jubang, a bar near Sokcho Lighthouse Beach: the verdict
Seo Jubang is a Korean cooking bar (요리주점) on Yeongnanghaean 6-gil near Sokcho Lighthouse Beach. I found this Sokcho bar while searching for great drinking snacks in the area. Between the clean interior and the unusual side dishes, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a good drink while traveling around Sokcho!

Retro sign and the outdoor deck platforms at Seo Jubang

Right from the entrance, Seo Jubang has a retro sign and a moody feel — a Sokcho pojangmacha-street bar near the beach with plenty of group seating.

There's a wooden deck outdoors where you can drink al fresco (yajang), which has a warm, nostalgic feel while still being clean and quietly upscale — honestly impossible to walk past :) Great pick if you're after a beachside deck bar or terrace spot in Sokcho.

The inside is just as clean and well-kept, making it a good spot whether you're with friends or a date. The place is spacious too, so it works well for group seating on the Sokcho pojangmacha strip.

What's in Seo Jubang's juanssang set, and picking the main
Ordering at Seo Jubang is done through a tablet at each table, which was convenient! Their signature set, the juanssang (drinking snack platter), lets you pick one main dish, and it comes with a generous spread of side dishes — great for drinking. The main options included onsuyuk, stir-fried octopus, crab fish cake stew, spicy chicken feet, flounder mulhoe, whole tofu duruchigi, and more — a really wide range.

🧾 The receipt-review event was worth it too — a full serving of squid muchoehoe, so I'd recommend joining in :)

The complimentary gim-bugak & banana chips were small but I kept reaching for them, and Seo Jubang even sets out stylish soju glasses that add to the mood for drinking.
What we ordered: the 53,000-won juanssang set
- Juanssang set - ₩53,000 (main: whole tofu duruchigi)

Seo Jubang is stylish, but it's also a genuine snack destination when it comes to food quality. Beyond the main dish, the set was packed — abai sundae, steamed scallops, squid muchoehoe, salted scallops, baek-kimchi, chojang, mayo pollack roe potato salad, pickled cherry tomatoes, all the extras! If you want hearty, well-made Korean drinking food with atmosphere in Sokcho, I'd recommend a visit to Seo Jubang :)

Seo Jubang is a bar near Sokcho Lighthouse Beach with group seating on the pojangmacha strip and food worth eating for — the set comes out generous enough to make a full meal of it.

How does the whole tofu duruchigi taste?
I'd never seen a duruchigi that looked like this at any Sokcho bar near Lighthouse Beach — a huge whole block of tofu on top. Just looking at it, you could tell it would be spicy and savory, a perfect match for drinking.

Cutting into Seo Jubang's tofu and lifting a piece with chopsticks, the weight and softness of it genuinely surprised me — I still think about it! Around the tofu, the pan was packed with meat and kimchi stir-fried in a sweet-spicy sauce.

Taking a big bite of tofu, meat and kimchi together, the spicy, deep flavor filled my mouth. The well-seasoned sauce and the soft, mild tofu worked beautifully together — eating the sauce-soaked meat and tofu together, I thought this place could double as a rice-side dish spot, not just a drinking snack.
Steamed scallops, squid sukhoe and the side dishes
As you'd expect from Sokcho seafood, Seo Jubang's steamed scallops and squid muchoehoe were tender with no fishy taste at all — really good. Plump scallop meat and chewy squid made for a fantastic drinking snack. They were great dipped in chojang or eaten alongside the dried radish too :)
The side dishes included in the set were all appealing and delicious in their own right. The pickled cherry tomatoes especially, tangy and a little sweet, were refreshing and perfect for cleansing the palate between bites, while the mayo pollack roe potato salad had a rich, salty roe-mayo sauce piled generously over soft potato salad, giving both heft and a fun popping texture.

Where are the group tables on Sokcho's pojangmacha strip?
Heading toward the restroom, I found there's more atmospheric seating further inside Seo Jubang! Perfect if you're looking for a Sokcho bar with group seating on the pojangmacha strip.

If you want hearty, well-made snacks with atmosphere while drinking in Sokcho, I'd definitely recommend a visit to Seo Jubang.
