Jeonpo bar in Busan with ox tail suyuk and chewy noodles: Judorak
In short
Judorak Jeonpo is a Korean dish-and-drinks bar in Jeonpo-dong, Busan, serving ox tail suyuk (boiled ox tail) in one big pot. The ox tail kept coming out from under the silver ear mushrooms and chamnamul greens, but the thick, sauce-soaked noodles lying beneath the meat were even more memorable. Judorak Jeonpo also serves lunch dishes such as Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap, so it works just as well by day as it does at night.

Today I went to Judorak in Jeonpo to eat ox tail suyuk. I love ox tail so much I was practically dancing with anticipation the day before haha. Bottom line: I left very satisfied. If you love ox tail, you should go here!

Judorak Jeonpo hours and lunch menu
I thought Judorak was strictly an evening bar, but it turns out it's open for lunch too with its own lunch menu. So it seemed like a fine spot to visit just for lunch as well. It opens at 12:30 and runs until 6am the next day 🫢

Open-air window seats, bar seats and second-floor group tables
The overall vibe of the place was pretty clean and neat. What stood out was that opening the windows lets you use the seats like an outdoor pojangmacha (street tent bar)! On a nice day, sitting there would feel amazing.

The pottery decor looked really pretty! There's also a 2nd floor — a big space that can seat up to 14 people with a reservation.

There are separate bar seats too, so it looked like a good spot to eat a simple meal or have a drink solo.

The banchan (side dishes) came out like this — pretty classic side dishes haha. Among these standard sides, I especially like stir-fried anchovies, and I enjoyed them here.

Ox tail suyuk: how much meat do you actually get?
And then the ox tail suyuk I'd been waiting for arrived! It's gorgeous just to look at. It comes out in one big pot.

On top, silver ear mushrooms are arranged like flowers along with chamnamul (Korean aster greens), and underneath the greens there's a huge amount of ox tail suyuk piled up. At first I thought the visible portion was all there was, but as I kept eating, more and more kept turning up haha.

There was way more ox tail than I expected, which made for a very satisfying meal. Ox tail tends to be a pricier menu item, so getting this much felt like solid value. It had a chewy texture and tasted great — right up my alley since I love ox tail.

The thick, sauce-soaked noodles hidden under the ox tail
But surprisingly, there was something I enjoyed even more — the noodles! There are noodles laid underneath the ox tail suyuk, and the sauce had soaked right into them, so they were really delicious. The noodles themselves were chewy, coated in a thick, glossy sauce, and I kept reaching for more.
Honestly, I don't usually like noodles that much, but I kept eating these anyway. I basically inhaled them haha. If you like thick, sauce-coated noodles, you have to try this dish. I wanted even more of the noodles.

How was the Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap at lunch?
I also tried the lunch menu's Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef tartare rice bowl). It's topped with chamnamul and 1++ grade Korean beef yukhoe, and it was quite satisfying too. These days a lot of places use frozen yukhoe for their bibimbap, so honestly I didn't expect much. But the yukhoe here had a chewy texture, high quality, and was sliced thin, which I loved.

It felt like eating properly made yukhoe for the first time in a while, so I really enjoyed this too. Eating the ox tail suyuk and the yukhoe bibimbap together made for a filling meal. Visiting for lunch as a proper meal, or for dinner with the ox tail suyuk and a drink, both sound great.
Who should visit Judorak Jeonpo
- Anyone who loves ox tail suyuk
- Anyone who loves chewy, thick-sauced noodles
- Anyone looking for a clean, tidy bar in Jeonpo
- Anyone who wants to eat in a pojangmacha-style atmosphere
- Anyone looking for a good Jeonpo spot open for lunch too
- Anyone who loves yukhoe bibimbap

If you love ox tail like I do, you'll be satisfied with the generous portion and great taste here. In particular, while the ox tail suyuk was great, it's the thick, sauce-soaked noodles underneath that I keep thinking about haha. If you're looking for ox tail suyuk or a lunch spot in Jeonpo, give Judorak a try!
