Jeonju Hanok Village has so much to see that your legs get tired faster than you expect while walking around, right? I was wandering around the village that day looking for somewhere to take a little break, and ended up at Jeonmang, a café where you can get a massage too.

Taking a foot soak and getting a shoulder massage in the middle of a trip is just the best, isn't it? I'd visited a few years ago too, and came back because, true to its name, Jeonmang lets you soak your feet while looking out over Jeonju Hanok Village.

There are seriously so many kinds of cafés in Jeonju Hanok Village, right? Hanok cafés, atmospheric cafés, and even foot bath cafés. From the entrance, Jeonmang had signs showing that it had appeared on all sorts of TV programs.

Seeing the waiting chairs on the way up the stairs, I thought, Koreans really do love massages hahaha.

It's in such an easy-to-find spot: upstairs from Pungnyeon Confectionery in front of the Waterwheel Intersection. If you're touring Hanok Village, you'll definitely pass by at least once.

A 30-minute course with a foot soak, shoulder massage, and drink

The basic course includes a foot soak, shoulder massage, and drink. It takes about 30 minutes in total, so it's such a great choice for taking a quick break during a trip.

Relaxation area for foot soaks and shoulder massages

You end up walking quite a lot while exploring Hanok Village, and this isn't just a foot soak—they even put a shoulder massager on you while you're sitting down, so it's great for resting on a day when you've walked a ton. My companion apparently got sleepy from it all; with feet in warm water and the massager on their shoulders, they actually fell asleep hahaha.

Before the foot soak begins, they get everything ready, and once you sit down they start explaining things. You just sit still and do exactly as you're told, like a baby bird.

Preparation before starting a foot soak

They cover you with a blanket and do everything for you haha. They even hand you a hand massager.

There were three types of bath salts: rose, lavender, and mint. I chose mint while my companion chose rose. I also liked being able to pick the scent you wanted.

Shoulder massage while soaking in warm water

Before visiting, I watched a performance and then came to Hanok Village. Maybe I clapped way too enthusiastically, because my shoulders hurt so badly it felt strange;; Sitting with my feet in warm water and using the shoulder massager at the same time definitely made me feel relaxed.

Especially when traveling, you're usually constantly walking around and only sit down at a café for a break, so being able to properly sit and rest while having a foot soak was just so nice...

My favorite part: the Hanok Village view

Because it's on the second floor, you can see the hanok roofs outside the window while sitting there. Soaking my feet in warm water and looking out at Hanok Village made even the bustling village feel charming.

There was foot cream to use after the soak too, so no need to worry about dryness.

There are lockers as well, so you can use the café comfortably even if you have lots of luggage.

There's also a changing room, so even if you arrive in long pants or tight clothes that make a foot soak tricky, you can use it comfortably.

Iced tea and persimmon leaf tea

Drink served with the foot soak course

Since it's a café, the course is foot soak + drink + shoulder massage, and from what I've read in other people's posts, the Americano gets pretty good reviews too?

Iced tea and persimmon leaf tea

My companion had sweet iced tea, while I had caffeine-free iced persimmon leaf tea because I was pregnant!

You don't have to have coffee—there are several kinds of tea too. You can have them hot or iced, so it actually feels like an even more healing choice when it's chilly.

Visitors ranging from couples to middle-aged pairs

Since it's a healing course, I wondered if there would be lots of young people? It really is such a nice place to visit on a date. There were so many young couples.

There were married couples too. Around the time I was leaving, people around my parents' age came in, and they absolutely loved it as soon as they sat down hahaha. Seeing them made me think it would be a perfectly good place to visit when traveling around Hanok Village with your parents too.

A unique way to take a break in Jeonju Hanok Village

Foot soak experience in Jeonju Hanok Village

When you're traveling around Jeonju Hanok Village, you end up walking more than you expect, right? After looking around places like Gyeonggijeon Shrine and Jeondong Cathedral, then waiting in line for street food...

Taking a break during a walk through Hanok Village

At some point your legs get tired, and I thought a break with a foot soak and shoulder massage was a pretty good idea.

Jeonmang is inside Hanok Village, so there is no need to travel far, and having the foot soak, shoulder massage, and drink together was convenient.
