Seongnam conditioning center for back pain and posture: Speed Conditioning
In short
Speed Conditioning Exercise Center is a muscle-conditioning and exercise-therapy center near Seohyeon Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. While pregnant, I had my upper body and glutes treated for lower-back pain, then tried core exercises and data-based rehabilitation training. Verdict: the posture change that happened without me trying was genuinely astonishing.

This time, I visited Speed Conditioning Exercise Center for physical therapy in Bundang. Let me give you the conclusion first: I was seriously shocked. My posture, which looked like dried squid, straightened right up. It turns out I did not just have bad posture—my muscles were all knotted up!!! Shocking.

My husband was so surprised that he kept taking videos and photos out on the street. I did not consciously straighten my posture; I just walked out after the treatment and it had straightened on its own. Back in middle school, people even teased me for being like this;;;; hahaha. But such a dramatic change~~

Today I received conditioning from Director Lee Hwa-jin. She is a professional physical therapist who also works with many athlete teams.
What does conditioning involve?
Even right before I went, I did not really know exactly what conditioning was. As it was explained to me, it helps injured athletes or athletes in pain relieve pain and rehabilitate through various methods, including hands-on therapy, physical therapy, and rehabilitation exercise, so they can stay in peak condition. Athletes were coming and going around my appointment time, too. When there is a competition, they travel there and help athletes with conditioning right beside the venue.
Conditioning session order
- Loosen the muscles first (hands-on therapy)
- Exercise-therapy session
Muscle conditioning for lower-back pain
This is inside the muscle-conditioning room. It is clean.

Normally EMS therapy is included too, but I skipped it because I am pregnant. I said my lower back hurt the most, and she told me that to resolve back pain, all the connected areas need to be loosened as well. So she focused on my upper body and glutes. Since I am pregnant, I received the treatment lying on my side.

My coracobrachialis muscle was knotted up too, so she worked on that. It hurt so much. But the effect was awesome!! The muscle name was unfamiliar to me, haha.

Because I am pregnant, my body is gradually pulled forward, and I was told that without separate exercise, it is easy to develop an anterior pelvic tilt. Since it is a muscle I do not usually use much, I did not even know my latissimus dorsi was knotted up. But she said that the tight latissimus dorsi was contributing to my neck and shoulder pain and my hunched posture.

She carefully worked through my tight glute muscles too,

and after carefully loosening everything step by step, my lower-back pain was much better than at the beginning.

Finally, she treated my neck and shoulders. Maybe because my circulation improved, my mom asked me the next day why my face had gotten so much smaller. I guess the puffiness went down. Whoa, that is amazing.
Pregnancy core exercises and a Moty trial

Next, I did core exercises that are good for pregnant people. There is such a huge difference between doing them alone and having someone beside you correct your form—the way you engage your strength is completely different. The positions look easy at first glance, but when you do them properly with the corrected form, they are incredibly hard.

Lastly, I tried data-based rehabilitation training called Moty. I was impressed that you can exercise quantitatively. It felt quite specialized, so rather than for everyday people, it seemed like something used for athletes or rehabilitation.
A posture that straightened without me thinking about it
Honestly, during the conditioning I only thought, ahh, this feels refreshing~ my knots are loosening. I never expected to see the effect of my posture straightening by itself, so I was so, so surprised. This was my first time experiencing my posture straighten up all at once like this. It is the real deal...!!!! I recommend it so, so much!! The best.
People who know my usual hunched posture would definitely be surprised.... Anyway, I will try to keep it up the way they straightened me out here, hehe. My mom has a hunched posture too, and I want to bring her here next time and spoil her ㅜ
