Gwangmyeong salon C-curl/S-curl perm for frizzy long hair: Maple Hair
In short
Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch is a hair salon on the second floor of the Eopanjang building in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi, a three-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gwangmyeong Sageori Station on Line 7. A cut, a C-curl/S-curl perm and a clinic treatment took about three and a half hours to tame long hair left frizzy by summer vacation and the monsoon season, and the result holds volume just by blow-drying and rolling it back loosely. The bright white, wood and green interior and the aftercare tips from a stylist with 20 years of experience made the visit worth it.

C-curl/S-curl perm at Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch, a salon near Gwangmyeong — I got my hair done in a really clean, pleasant space.
If you're a parent who has to trail after a first-grader all day... book your hair appointment. Booook it. Before summer vacation starts, I mean it, haha. There's really no time for a perm once vacation hits ㅠㅠ There's no day where you can just carve out 3.5 hours!!!
I kept telling myself I'd do it during vacation and put it off, and by the time summer vacation and monsoon season hit, my hair had become the final boss of frizzy, messy hair — I was just tying it back in a bun ㅠㅠ School finally started again, and on a day my kid had afterschool care, I ran straight to the salon haha.
Where is Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch, and what are its hours?
Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Eopanjang building, a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gwangmyeong Sageori Station on Line 7. Hours are Monday–Friday 10:30–20:30, Saturday–Sunday 10:30–20:00.
It's close to Gwangmyeong Sageori and Gwangmyeong Market, so I went and checked out the market while I was at it!! I hadn't been to Gwangmyeong Sageori in a while and it had changed so much. So nostalgic... haha.

Frizzy long hair before and after the perm: how much changed?
I went to Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station :) I got a C/S-curl perm on my long hair that had been untouched and frizzy for ages. Everyone wants the before-and-after first, so here it is!!

Total transformation.

It's on the 2nd floor, and in front of the building there's a staircase leading up that looks like the door to the salon itself, haha.

Inside Maple Hair: white, wood and green interior
The first thing I noticed walking in was how clean and bright everything felt overall. With the white-toned interior and green accents, it felt a bit more like a café than a hair salon. Either way, women often go to salons to reset their mood, and getting your hair done really does lift your spirits. I think the space and atmosphere matter a lot! There were plants scattered around too, so the photos came out looking even nicer.
Here's the raw, unfiltered state: hair bleached by the sun, frizzy and dry, even a crease from being tied back. My whole vibe... reality check...
How the cut, C-curl/S-curl perm and clinic treatment went
Anyway... I first talked about the style I wanted and my current hair condition, and we discussed how to proceed before starting. I liked that the stylist looked at my current hair and gave feedback based on it. I wanted it cut a bit lighter and easy to manage.
And then the real work began! The long, tedious wait started haha. Looking around, the mirrors, lighting and chairs were all coordinated in white, wood and green tones, giving the whole salon a relaxing feel. Since you often have to sit for an hour or two during a perm, I found that this kind of detail actually matters quite a bit.
As a proper salon review, let me walk you through the process with photos I took ㅋㅋ I got a cut + C/S-curl perm + clinic treatment!

The cut came first, followed by a protein treatment. This step locks in the protein already in your hair during the perm, helping keep it more elastic and bouncy.

Snack menu and first-visit discounts at Maple Hair
They even had a snack menu prepared, so I could relax and just say what I wanted 😍 These are the actual treatment prices. Usually at salons you pay ahead with a prepaid voucher to get extra discounts — and here the discounts stack 👍👍

- Up to 40% off first visit (Naver Pay + review)
- 10% off with Naver advance booking
There were so many events running at the same time. How much of a discount are they even giving here ㅋㅋㅋ Don't forget to book through Naver in advance!!
Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch even puts its good influence to work through donations, 👍 plus they have a clear compensation policy — worth checking before you go!!

Being on the 2nd floor meant lush green trees outside the window, which was easy on the eyes. Perm, neutralization and clinic all in one stop~

The shampoo station was unexpectedly nice 💕 Green trees right next to me, autumn sky above. Getting my hair worked on while lying back felt so good 😍 Oh, and there was a restroom inside the salon that was as clean as the store itself, so that was convenient too 👍 A restroom is a must during a perm ㅜㅜ
The finished C-curl/S-curl perm after 3 hours
After about 3 hours, it was finally done~ Not too 'auntie perm,' but still full of volume (how is that even possible ㅋㅋ) — I wanted hair that holds some shape and volume even without styling, just by shaking it out, and it turns out that's possible just by drying it and gently rolling it back~~ It's actually possible!!! From the back, only the ends were curled while rolls were placed on the sides for volume!
She explained the aftercare, and we washed and styled it together — my hair felt so light and moisturized while the volume came together so easily, it was almost surprising 😍 She even cleverly pressed down the crown and side sections a bit. Anti-frizz insurance!

Took some photos from different angles, checked myself out. Not overdone, right?? The flat, droopy look was gone, replaced with something bouncy and satisfying.

A stylist with 20 years of experience and a four-leaf clover gift
I was styled by Stylist Mihui — she seemed quiet at first, but once the conversation got going she talked a ton, was really funny, and dropped witty lines here and there, so the whole thing flew by chatting away~ When she said we were almost done, I was genuinely startled 🙄 She looks young, but she started working early and has a whopping 20 years of experience. No wonder she could tell exactly what I meant even when I explained things badly~~ 😂
She said they donate 100 won for every single client, and even gave me a four-leaf clover as a gift — felt amazing 💕 It's a small gesture but felt like a big deal, and like something good was about to happen.
Is Maple Hair Gwangmyeong worth a visit? Final thoughts
While writing this post I learned that C-curl and S-curl perms are the most popular hairstyle among women in their 40s, and I was startled all over again. I liked it in my 30s too ㅜㅜ
Anyway,, the most important thing is that my hair came out great ㅋㅋ plus the clean salon and the skilled, fun stylists as a bonus~ If you're looking for a hair salon near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station, I hope the location, atmosphere and treatment photos from Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch are helpful!
