Gwangmyeong hair salon root dye and RE:X 4-step clinic: Maple Hair
In short
Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch is a second-floor hair salon a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gwangmyeong Sageori Station in Gyeonggi. The writer arrived with hair left dry by repeated coloring and had a premium root dye plus the Clinic B Set (RE:X 4-step clinic), and the new roots matched the already-colored hair in one even tone rather than reading as a separate shade. Hair that had been hard to comb through ended up smooth, making Maple Hair a repeat candidate even for a self-described salon nomad.

Once you start coloring your hair, the roots just keep growing back and your hair keeps getting more damaged… anyone who dyes regularly has probably run into this frustrating cycle ㅠ My hair got noticeably dry from repeating full dyes and root touch-ups, so this time I went to Maple Hair near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station for a root touch-up plus a clinic treatment.

Three minutes from Exit 3: getting there and what the salon looks like

Maple Hair near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station is just a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of the station!

Head up to the second floor and…

a bright, clean salon appears~ So spacious and comfortable, right?
Consultation for the premium root dye and Clinic B Set

First they showed me to my seat! They even brought snacks and a drink, so I could start the treatment in a good mood~

A hopeless BEFORE photo ;; A month after coloring, the black roots were creeping back up, and my hair had gotten even drier than someone with typical dry hair ㅠ My condition must have looked pretty rough, because Deputy Director Ju-eun examined my hair carefully, and after the consultation we decided on the premium root touch-up + Clinic B Set.

Root dye matched to already-colored hair, in one even tone
First, she mixed the dye to match my existing hair color, then carefully applied it focused on the newly grown roots. She matched the color so it would blend as naturally as possible with the already-colored sections, and she was thorough about sectioning the roots so no spot was missed — I really liked that!

Pure bliss... After the processing time, we moved to the shampoo room where they rinsed out every trace of the remaining dye. And then the scalp massage that followed... heaven..😇 After the shampoo, I went back to my seat for the clinic treatment!

How does the RE:X 4-step clinic work?
The clinic I got this time was the RE:X 4-step clinic, a treatment that replenishes moisture and protein in the hair and cares for both the cuticle and the scalp.
Step 1 is Aqua CMC, which supplies moisture to heat-damaged hair and protects it. It's described as the step that fills dry hair with moisture and improves the hair's elasticity and condition.
Step 2 is Protein Filler, which replenishes protein that's lacking in damaged hair. It helps protein absorb deep into the hair, focusing on caring for brittle, damaged strands.
Step 3 is Cuticle Bond. It cares for the hair's cuticle so the moisture and protein added earlier stay locked in, and it's said to protect hair from outside damage.
The final step, Step 4, is Scalp Reaction, which finishes off not just the hair but the scalp too. It's meant to clear away any alkaline residue left from the treatment and protect the scalp.
Overall, it's easiest to think of it as a 4-step clinic that goes moisture supply → protein replenishment → cuticle protection → scalp care.
They applied the treatment carefully~ then gave it a steam~ and after that

After the clinic, combing my hair felt completely different
My hair really transformed, right? Where did all that frizz go..?
My hair used to barely let a comb through, but after the clinic, the comb glided smoothly through it. And even though it was just a root touch-up, there was no sense of the new color clashing with the old — everything blended into one natural tone, which made me really happy.

When the treatment was done and I went to pay, I found out Maple Hair uses part of its store revenue for a good cause. So I ended up donating too! (Faith in humanity: restored)
Is Maple Hair Gwangmyeong worth a return visit?

This visit was satisfying from the root touch-up all the way through the clinic! Best of all, as a salon nomad, I felt like I finally found a salon I actually like near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station :) Next time I need my hair done, I think I'll be heading back to Maple Hair!
