Since we hadn't been to Gogi-ri in a while, it felt like a waste to just eat and leave, so we wandered around a bit. Walking around after dinner like a little stroll turned out to be perfect.

What is this place that looks like a mansion? This is Pig Mie-eul (피그미엘), the subject of today's post ^^ Let's get into the review.

I wanted a nice dinner somewhere with good atmosphere over the weekend, so I headed to Pig Mie-eul. Gogi-ri is full of places good for a drive-and-dine, and I visit sometimes, but this time I wanted to really enjoy the atmosphere too, not just eat, so I made a reservation ahead of time.
Bottom line first: the food is good, but the time of day really matters here. We visited around 5:30 PM, right when the sunset was coming in, and the light drifted softly through the window.
Wow... the real atmosphere was so much prettier than any photo could show, ㅠㅠ

Gogi-ri's Pig Mie-eul, visited with a reservation
Pig Mie-eul didn't feel like a typical restaurant — more like a small house in Europe that had been converted into a dining space. The exterior gave that impression, and stepping inside confirmed it even more.
They kept the feel of an old house while arranging the tables, lighting, curtains, and carpets, which made for quite an atmosphere. As I captured in the photos, the interior stretches out in a long layout, with curtains between tables and an old-looking floor paired with exposed ceiling — an oddly stylish combination.
It's not the usual clean, newly-opened café look you see everywhere these days, and I think that's exactly why I liked it more. Kind of a "wait, is this some European countryside house?" feeling haha. And since we'd booked ahead, we were shown to a seat with a great window view.

5:30 PM visit — the sunset hour was the winning move
The sunlight coming toward our table was genuinely gorgeous. It wasn't fully dark yet, so natural light spilled across the tabletop, and outside the window there was a lush green view too. It was one of those times of day where the food photos look great with almost no editing haha.

We went with our baby, and maybe because the atmosphere was so relaxed, the baby seemed to be in a good mood too. Honestly, eating out with a baby often means the parents end up more focused on managing the surroundings than the food, but that day we actually got to sit back and relax a bit.
And they had a baby chair ready, which made it much easier to visit with a baby. This kind of thing matters more than you'd think. Without a baby chair, you're already exhausted before the meal even starts haha.

Starting with the pre-meal bread
Once we sat down, pre-meal bread arrived. It came with olive oil for dipping, and dipping the bread lightly in the oil made it light yet savory — I couldn't stop reaching for more.
"I shouldn't eat too much before the mains come out..." — and then kept eating anyway haha

We also got a complimentary bite-sized dish. Little touches like this really lift the mood. It felt like they were putting real care into things from the very start, so I was in a good mood even before the meal properly began.
Truffle cream pasta with beef: rich and thick
And now the dish I was most looking forward to — the truffle cream pasta with beef! With a name like that, it's hard for it not to taste good.

With beef, truffle aroma, and cream sauce together, it had a savory, rich flavor. I'm usually the type who puts down my fork after a few bites if a cream pasta is too heavy, but this one went down well even alongside the pizza.

The truffle aroma came through subtly too, giving it more depth than an ordinary cream pasta.

Salsiccia pizza: delicious just to look at
One of the dishes we ordered was the Salsiccia pizza. The moment it arrived, it already looked seriously appetizing.
The edges of the crust were baked to a golden brown, and the top was piled high with cheese and toppings. While I was taking photos, the smell kept drifting up and I just wanted to dig in already haha.

Alternating a bite of pizza with a bite of pasta worked really well. The pizza had a chewy, savory quality, while the pasta was smooth and rich, so going back and forth felt great. If I had to pick just one, I'd genuinely struggle. Ordering both might be the happiest choice of all haha.

When eating pizza I tend to judge the crust edge, and here it was baked just right, giving it a great texture — slightly crisp outside, chewy inside.

Eating the cheese and toppings together gave a savory, salty balance that worked well. And, like in the photo, we cut the pizza ourselves as we ate, which somehow added to the atmosphere too. It was just a pizza, but with the sunset light on top of it, it genuinely felt like a dinner scene out of a movie. Overkill? Maybe haha, but that's really how it felt.
Dessert: Pig Mie-eul's signature Figue Panna Cotta
It felt like a waste to leave right after the meal, so we ordered dessert too. We chose the Figue Panna Cotta — apparently Pig Mie-eul's signature dessert, topped with fresh figs.
With fresh figs sitting on top, it looked gorgeous before we even tasted it. Eating the smooth panna cotta together with the figs gave a sweetness balanced with the fruit's fresh brightness, making it a great way to close the meal. Maybe it was the great atmosphere that day, but even the time spent on dessert felt unhurried. Finishing the meal but not wanting to get up right away — is this the power of atmosphere haha.
A place that worked well with a baby too
One unexpectedly nice part of this visit was how easy it was with a baby along. There was a baby chair, and the tables were comfortable enough to sit at with the baby too.
Above all, the sunlight streaming in beautifully during our visit made the whole atmosphere feel warm and cozy, and the baby seemed happy too, looking around contentedly. That let us focus on the food as well.
Eating out with a baby often means rushing through the meal and leaving in a blur, but that day we took photos, ate slowly, and chatted along the way. It felt like a relaxed dinner in a long time haha.
